…for Parish to step aside?

No. You know I don’t think it’s as simple as just stepping aside. The bloke has said many times if a big rich Saudi state fancied coming in and buying the club he wouldn’t step in their way but who would we realistically get instead? I don’t fancy any of the Americans we have waiting in the wings taking over, we have seen how little they care about the club. Parish (and co, not just him) are clearly trying to avoid spending money to fund the stadium and focus on off field matters.

Obviously this isn’t going to be seen as the right call by many, including me. If you stand still you go backwards in this league so he’s playing a risky game sticking with Roy and not investing in the teams obvious deficiencies but I don’t think it’s as simple as getting pariah to release the club and then everything will be class. I think overall the bloke has done a good job and we have the makings of a very decent team. He just stopped investing at the wrong time and now it looks like we may loose our best players before spending the money to get the next crop in to fill our weak positions.

Parish looked pretty bored with being there tonight but at least unlike a lot of chairman he sits through games with the rest of us .So unless he is a complete dumbarse which I don't think he is he will know what we need to move forward .

I'll reserve my vote until February 1st

And we still need a striker

Thank you, Jaha, for a considered response…I have posted before about ‘ambition’.
We may end this season mid table, again. I hope so, or do I?
The lack of ambition in real terms which we see of our club for too long, is strangling and frustrating our over tolerant fan base. A season long survival plan, year after year, is not sustainable..
I want to see some boldness from Parish…it may not work, but mediocrity I can not tolerate.
Can you.?

Sadly Parish won't go.
This means no progress and he is not interested in that, his only interest is keeping the club afloat, seemingly regardless of the division.
This year, the Championship is not beyond the bounds of possibility particularly if he persists with Roy and all his yes men.

As I posted elsewhere, Parish tends to do things in cycles.

Re-appointing Hodgson was a playing for time tactic in my view. Either his choice of manager wasn’t available last summer or he didn’t rate any of the other potential candidates.

I’m frustrated with Parish for that reason. Add to that going into this season with a squad short on quantity and quality, and the predictable dull football and I’m not surprised that people are critical of him.

So let’s see. I don’t like him spouting BS about aiming for the top ten when we only look at best a mid table outfit. But my hope is that this summer he recruits the right man for the job and also overhauls the squad and we go into next season on a more positive note

Why, what’s your alternative suggestion?

I'm not saying I consider it correct and an accurate reflection of reality but this mirrors exactly my opinion NEILLO.

My other point would echo Painter's sentiments above too. There seems to be a presumption that were Parish just able to up and leave, some dream owner would waltz through the door with a £250 million transfer kitty and a construction team fit to rebuild the stadium. I think the reality would be far different.

I'll just concentrate on supporting the team one game at a time whilst reserving the right to moan about football and trying not to complain about anything more. COYP.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I'd like to presume that he's smart enough to know broadly what he is doing. And as you said the Roy appointment was for a specific reason:
- As you said because primary target wasn't avalible
- or, trying to guarantee another prem season to get the stand started
etc

Regardless I cant imagine he is happy with what he's seeing, but, we are not in the relegation places, and squad is close to full fitness.

Suspect we'll have a quiet Jan window, tread water across the rest of the season. BUT lets hope that come mid July, the building works has started, we've got a progressive manager and a healthy war chest!

I still find it unbelievable that people even think things like this, love him or hate him, he owns the club. It’s like me as an ordinary grunt employee going up to the owner of my company and saying to him, ‘isn’t it time you stepped aside?’

As someone one said above, so what happens if he does? Do people really think we’re going to be better off as we stand at the moment?

How wonderful !

I am fast arriving at the opinion that it does not matter one jot whom we manage to attract in the Transfer Window as they will just be thrust into a system which does not have the approval of swathes of our supporters.

Just 2 'Home' wins in 11 games at Selhurst Park with performances, in general, which have hardly excited all and sundry.'Net Zero' entertainment.Disgraceful.

For me Parish has the best interests of palace at heart. Let’s not forget he ended up with a failing championship club that got into the premier league. Instantly catapulting him and the others into the billionaires playground. He hasn’t got the money himself so has had to get investment into the club, has made some poor judgements along the way in that regards which has kept us afloat and still aboard the gravy train. He’s a mere pauper in relative terms, if he had more of his own dough im sure things would be different. I like him but he’s hamstrung by the complete mess of the ownership model. Until something happens with the stadium we will ALWAYS be stuck like this.
