What a dreadful day for our club. It's embarrassing. Roy was a 76 yr old Palace fan who was asked to manage the team for a second term without being given new players last summer. He struggled with his own tried and tested methods to develop a silk purse from a sow's ear and lost key players through injury to add to his woes.

If it's true that Glasner has been appointed on the very day Roy was taken to hospital it would appear he knew what was going on and it must have attributed to whatever his problem was. Mr Parish must take responsibility for the situation in which we find ourselves and it does not look good for CPFC.

Whatever anyone thinks of Roy he deserved a better end to his managerial career, if indeed he has gone. It would have been far kinder had he left by mutual agreement after our win over Sheffield when we could all see he was struggling. At least he could have gone out on a high.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery and a happy retirement Roy.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

So Roy is taken ill just as this other fellow is putting his signature to a contract? Yeah ok.. What a remarkable coincidence. Still Roy knows they approached him behind Pat Vieira's back so...

I wouldn't recommend it, it was awful. I started ranting to her about Schlupp's goal contributions and she started saying stuff like "I don't know who Schlupp is" and "I can't believe you're being like this on my birthday".

Some people, eh?

We don't know if Roy's illness could be the reason for this. Wasn't he in hospital recently enough? I don't think anybody wants anything to happen to Roy - surely the pressure of the job would be too much if sick. We don't know what exactly has happened but I suspect tomorrow's another day. Get well soon Roy.

This whole season stinks of bad management from the board.

Said to my son that I just want this one out the way and if we go down we deserve it.

I wish Roy a speedy recovery. Wonderful man and a great manger for us. Whether the decision to appoint someone with no Premier league experience is the right one we’ll see.

Will always love Palace, but this season has been awful because it could have promised so much and had descended into a farce.

Perhaps we ought to find out the truth of the matter before casting judgement on the club.

First of all we don't know for sure that he has been sacked or replaced. It's currently media speculation.

Secondly, even if he has been replaced, correlating that sequence of events to him being taken ill is unfair. I'm pretty sure Parish wasn't sacking him as he was being led away on a stretcher and, even if he has been sacked, it's clearly just an awful coincidence.

This isn't the first time that he's had health issues this season and he was taken ill before one of our previous games. He's also, in my opinion, looked awful in interviews and is very much showing his age as well as the pressure of the job.

Let's all just hope that he's ok first of all and then worry about the rest later on. I'm sure the club are doing right by him, either way.

Parish damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

It's not as if Parish cast Roy down with Illness and then whilst Roy's helpless on the floor said " and you're fired for good measure".

You have zero facts as to what's happened but let's not delude ourselves with saying it wasn't expected. Roy hasn't done great as of late and if there is a moment to replace him, then now seems like an opportune moment.

I doubt the idea was to try and kill him off at the same time.

Not to mention he's been in a high pressured job on his own volition at the age of 76. Nobody put a gun to his head.

I believe the relationship between Parish and Hodgson is fine and that Hodgson is fully on board with what's being go on, even if it's not been openly acknowledged in recent interviews.
Parish apparently accompanied him to hospital today.
What is clear is that the communications in recent weeks have been mishandled and there has been a serious amount of leaks going on.
This has led, and will continue to lead, to mischief making, rumours and conjecture.
In a few weeks it probably won't matter as much as the circus moves on to another club.
