Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock was happy with the point won at Coventry.
Darren Ambrose put the Eagles in front after 28 minutes before Leon Best levlled for the Sky Blues two minutes into the second half.
He said:"I am pleased with a point but disappointed in certain respects. I felt we should have had a penalty in the first half and if we had gone in 2-0 up then I don't think they would have come back from that.
"We shot ourselves in the foot giving them a goal at the start of the second half and took a lot of pressure of them. All I ask of my lads is that they work hard and that is what they have done. At the end of the day it is another point at a very difficult place.
"We just need that bit of extra quality to finish teams off, we have been having a lot of the ball in games with a number of chances but not been taking them. The squad is limited in certain aspects but the lads are working their socks off for me.
"Darren is in good form and the goal he scored today is one of the most difficult because it was about anticipation. Who else would be thinking that Freddie Sears would hit his shot like that? But I think there is even more to come from him.
"The hardest goals are like the one Darren scored today and at the minute you want him on the end of any half chances which come about."
City boss Chris Coleman said: "It was a tough game and I knew it would be. There was a lot of courage and a lot of spirit and the reason we didn't get three points wasn't a lack of effort, things are just not dropping for us.
"We have been playing square pegs in round holes and you can only do that for so many games.
"We had a lot of players back today and that showed but I want to see them play half a dozen games together, then you have a chance.
"I have told the strikers I want them to work harder for the team and they did that today."
