Crystal Palace got their summer campaign off to a winning start with a 2-1 success at Dagenham & Redbridge.

Palace dominated thoughout and secured victory after goals from trialist Atdhe Nuhiu and an Owen Garvan penalty.

Nuhiu put the Eagles ahead on 34 minutes by slotting home another trialist Quincy Owusu-Abeyie's cross from the right.

Palace extended their lead from the spot after right-back Quade Taylor was fouled in the box by Obefemi. Irishman Garvan put away the kick.

The Daggers pulled a goal back with a penalty of their own after Taylor tangled with Zavon Hines in the area and Elito fired home. Despite late pressure from the hosts, Palace held on to win.

Palace: (First half) Speroni, Ward, Wynter, Gabbidon, Jerome Williams, O'Keefe, Jonny Williams, Owusu-Abeyie, Dobbie, Phillips, Nuhiu.

(Second-half): Fitzsimons, Taylor, Inniss, Ramage, Moxey, Boateng, Grandin, Garvan (De Silva 88), Sow, Gayle, Wilbraham.
