Crystal Palace defender Adrian Mariappa says he's puzzled by the team's below-par showing against Hull City.

Palace ended a run of four league matches without defeat with a flat performance at Hull where they lost 2-0.

"Things just didn’t go our way, it happens," he said. "We had a lot of decisions which went against us and we’re disappointed to lose the game.

"It’s hard to put a finger on what went wrong. We’ll look back at the video and see where we can improve and what went wrong.

"We’ll look to rectify it but everyone needs to remember the lads have done terrifically in the last few games, and our wingers have been ripping full-backs apart. In the second half we just didn’t quite click this time."

Mariappa entered the fray after 12 minutes due to the injury of Scott Dann who was stretchered off with a knee problem.

"Hopefully it’s not too serious with Scott Dann," said the 28-year-old. "He’s been a massive part of what we’ve achieved at this club in the last year.

"Hopefully it’s not too bad for him and he’s back playing sooner than later. I haven’t played too much this season yet but I thought in the first half we linked up well down the right, like we did in the latter part of last season.

"That was pleasing and a bit better quality on the crossing and it may have come to something. That’s positive from my part of view going forward."

Palace will be looking to get back to winning ways but face a tough test at home to Chelsea in their next outing. Can they do it? Why not back them for all three points on SportsbookNavigator.com
