21 yrs ago to that date. Leicester last minute broke our hearts. Lovely moment that was. Not. Followed by Hopkins 12 months later... Fabulous

One of my favourite CPFC days. The year before, I took my 11 year old son to the PO Final against Leicester. He was distraught after losing. We walked down Olympic Way back to the station and I told him that he should always remember today in the future, so the wins will taste sweeter.

How were we to know that 12 months on, when Hopkin Curled One In. My son and I were right in line with him as he hit it. His best ever Palace day - sheer unadulterated joy. He always reminds me of it. Shame it went tits up the next season but it was still a great day.

Went to both PO finals - I was behind the goal to the right (as viewed from the pitch) and had a great view of Hopkins curler

Seem to remember for the Leicester game they were getting ready to bring on their giant substitute keeper for the penalties when Claridge shinned it in..

Your memory serves you well. That's exactly what happened. We had just uttered "oh f***!" at seeing the size of their sub when it suddenly became totally irrelevant.

I remember the feeling so well having suffered the heartbreak the year before.

I made sure that I went up to every Sheffield United supporter I met after the game and magnanimously shook their hand and said bad luck to them because I remembered how bloody much that hurt the year before from Leicester tw**s doing that to me. There's very little difference between appearing to be nice and rubbing salt in the wound.
I rubbed as much as I could, in the nicest way. And no one can be upset if you're being nice...

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

The thing I remember most from the game was how vocal the whole Palace end was for the last ten or so minutes. I like to think it was our constant singing that got us over the line.

I remember the feeling from Clarridge well, going into school the next Monday with mates laughing... PE teacher asking how I felt.. The play off wins against Charlton were special but damn I was knocked back down to earth..
Fast forward a year, Sunderland was stroke inducing and then to see that ball defy physics to go in... my whole family leapt up in front of the tv... I instantly associated myself as a prem fan.. it was a surreal feeling.

I went to Cardiff and watched west ham, it was a blur but some amazing memories with my family...the streets before the game, kicking a ball amongst the crowd.. my dad grabbing it and doing a rugby kick...

Then, 2013... I was working and in Canada and remember seeing the result throughout the game.. then checking the final whistle and cheering but no one cared..

This was once a quality forum....
