Morning HOLers.

I'd like to apologise for my rant on this thread yesterday, I was wrong to do so. Roy & indeed a lot of you, all agreed, "respect the point".

JPM miss kick doesnt look good but his left foot slipped then he tried to rebalance and slipped more , one thing i had noticed over time when he has a clear chance to shoot it normally on target ,

Sam almost cost a goal when they hit the post what was he thinking 2 palace players on him and Sam was well off his line , apart from that done what he at to , shame is really good save was offside , so doesnt count in stats

To be fair that was the only mistake I recall him making. He really is a solid keeper and all round I think a slight improvement on Guaita.

Oh without doubt better at crosses than guaita by a mile to start with , wasnt a pop at him sometimes people dont see it , and he didnt make anymore errors , which me think one or two words was said by defence to him which defenders should do , same as Sam telling his defence what there doing wrong

All in all, a good performance everything considered.

I'm not sure any manager around can do what Roy does. Its isn't pretty, but they make it very difficult for teams to play against. ITs certainly not progressive but I'm glad we have him to navigate us at the moment.

The positives are that we've got a really solid defensive unit. and tactically everyone knows what to do.

Add Olise, Eze and the future balon dor winner Franca into the mix and that looks like a very good team. And a much more healthy squad.

But on positive note Rak Sakyi looked very promising , hope now he can kick on

What?!

Johnstone, Guehi, Andersen, Hughes, Rak Sakhi, Ayew all easily above 5. I liked the way both CBs carried the ball into midfield.

Also, was worried when Richard’s slotted into midfield, but we actually looked better with him there. Kudos to him for playing well out of position.

Is that before or after they've cleaned the room?

No worries, It's easy to get frustrated as it feels like we've missed an opportunity to do even better than we are right now with just 3/4 more quality players for the bench. Having supported Palace since the mid 80s I am used to missed opportunities now

JRS was a real highlight though. Let's hope his progression is steady and after a few cameos while our injured players recover, he can then go back to being a squad player while his body adapts to the physicality of the PL. Hopefully we've finally seen the promise we were all hoping for though.

I must of missed this but even without the apology I think the odd ‘moan’ is therapeutic and easily forgiven, especially for established members (given their character willl be known). It is football after all, we are only human and a few cervezas may always play their part on match days

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I have no recollection of your "Rant".
I am prone to getting "Hot under the collar" on occasions with red mist of genuine fury formed around me and such a state of apoplexy can cause me to construct declamatory posts leaving one in no doubt I am venting my spleen.

In terms of the result, I have formed the opinion that with our injury woes, a point was a creditable result.

Mind you CHO wasn't exactly ripping it up for Forest and people on here said we should sign him. I think Elanga looked good when he came on shame we didn't go for him.

I was in favour of Elanga but not so much CHO. However, the commentary on TSN said apparently Elanga has looked like he needs a lot of polishing, hence why he didn't start. CHO was anonymous; maybe saving his energy to count his wages. As it was, Rak-Sakyi outshone them both.

Maybe straw clutching but now the dust has settled we can treat this as a point gained rather than two lost after leading and letting in a late goal. The last five minutes of each half tends to be a bit nerve shredding so let's take the positive of four points from the last two games rather than the hoped for three.
