The SNP campaigned for independence on the basis that they wanted self governance and democracy for their country.

Not even a hint of contradiction is there

This is my point exactly. They want to leave but just to spite England and Wales they'll vote to be a part of the EU! That means that they won't have any independence! Just to spite England! And it's also motivated by raging nationalistic sentiment! They're pathetic!

Their slogan should be 'We're independent now......BUT KEEP SENDING THE MONEY!!!'

I think its their choice. Ultimately they voted to stay in the UK, and the UK Nationalists were very happy to retain the union. It would seem a bit odd to then be concerned that they're exercising their legal rights to stay in the EU.

Its the right of each person in the UK to vote, however they feel, and we kind of have to abide by that decision.

I don't think a stay vote will stop people who want an exit, anymore than the stay vote would stop the SNP on their participation in the Union - It'll probably mean that it won't be revisited for some time.

It would be odd and he reasons are that the two issues are separate. Scotland voted to stay in the UK. Now the UK votes on whether to stay in EU. The nationalists said it was a once in a generation event and hey should respect that.

I may be wrong but In my opinion The fear of the Unknown will mean that people vote to stay.

Right - most people don't like change and will vote on the basis of better the devil you know. Surprised if the OUT vote will get more than 40% of the pole.

Sadly, I don't think it'll make any difference as the vote will be rigged in favour of remaining anyway.

I totally agree with cucking on this,I fear it will be rigged in some way or another.
Either postal wise or the ballot papers will be worded in a way to confuse the older generation,( I include myself in that).
Cameron would have to go if he lost the vote.

It definitely will be rigged, you can guarantee it. We're supposed to live in a democracy, but we don't.

Given that an 'out' vote would almost certainly trigger another Scotland referendum, should England have to stay in because of Scottish votes (I still think it's unlikely to be that close), could we demand a "chuck Scotland out" referendum?

Preparing the made-up excuses for a majority 'in' vote already? That's a bit defeatist.

I do get the impression you lot are becoming 'resigned' though.

Maybe, just maybe, for workers rights, for the ex-pats, for the economy, for trade, for those that like to travel, for the less likelihood of conflict, etc.....we are possibly better off...you know...remaining?

Ex-pats are generally south London criminals retiring to the Costas, and the economy is never of interest to the left unless it's the Tories fault for damaging it.

I still can't get to the bottom of which genuine factor these arguments are being used to bolster.

I'm pretty sure that to some the EU represents the closest thing we'll ever have to communism and that the contradictory cheap labour element suddenly becomes a desirable thing.

The polls still show it as close with many undecided.

I think you are creaming your pants prematurely Michael.

The leave camp haven't really started playing dirty yet either.

EDIT: Daily Mirror latest poll results.........

Not as clear cut as you thought is it?
