Good 3 points. Do need to look at how to play a full 90 minutes of football though. Second half was pretty dire

..no it wasn't, why just because they gained promotion do people believe this team to be crap, Boro are a very good side and we prevented them from playing and creating very many opportunities until the end when obviously with only one goal in it they are bound to try even harder, only on four occasions did they really open us up, we had them in a mess nine times not including our goals.

Really? It wasn't until the last 15 minutes that Boro looked like scoring. We managed the game fairly well I thought.

Agreed, I didn't think Boro were that threatening in the 2nd. half. Back four dealt with them rather comfortably I thought. Flamini's experience will be invaluable for us this season, good pick up.

On the basis of today I bet City would rather have him than Bravo!

I don't see how putting across my point is a downer. Just saying it as I saw it. Apart from Wilf's goal which was fantastic, when did we have any sustained pressure in the second half ?

..we are not Moan.c.

Great goalkeeping. We only just kept our cool. A good foundation for the season.

Great win, just what we needed. For those saying we didn't manage the game, the players know just as well as us that our form has been pretty bad for this calendar year. As soon as we scored both goals you could sense the team were thinking "let's not throw this away" once that happens the game and plan drifts as there is an element of panic. We need a few results before this goes away but it will. I'll take the 3 points and well done lads and well done Pardew.

That's a very good point. Surely some of this has to be from the manager though. That reminded me a lot of the Liverpool game last season where we got a goal and then sat off, and inevitably conceded. We look much better when we try to play, and we really can play when we try !

No we're not, but should we allow the opposition to have the ball for 45 minutes ?

Very very happy with the 3 points, but that was far more seat of the trousers than it needed to be if we'd shown some composure on the ball.

..I bet all the Middlesborough fans thought exactly the same of their team.
