Would never ever pay adebayor 77k a week for a striker who hasn't played since May I wouldn't get borini or bendtner either would rather palace go out and spend money on a striker that's going to move us on its not that we haven't got any we have new investment now so instead of shopping in lidl go shopping in Harrods for a change and break the bank and stop saying we have been outbid or they don't won't to move if we offer 15million + for a striker from Europe they ain't going to turn it down the foreign league need the money and 15million would most probably be like winning the lottery to most foreign teams so SP and co spend the money and don't be tight wads FS

Theirs no way parish can sanction 77k for a guy who hasn't played for a year your basically paying him to use the facilities to get himself fit before he sods off too Spain or Italy

We should just move on from this player. If we can't get our no1 targets now, wait until the summer. Lets not waste the money, and save it for a big tilt at Europe next season. We all need to be patient.

Realistically if any of us were offered 100 grand a week to not work or a new employer came along and said I will offer you 50 but you can start working tomorrow what would you say? It does not work like that, Spurs owe him for the rest of his contract, and they will have to pay up that contract in full, and that I think is the end of this month, that's why he's hanging it out. As far as his fitness is concerned, he's a pro so should be keeping himself fit especially if he is serious about signing for another club, plus all photo's I've seen of him of late he looks in good knick with no obvious extra bulk.

Let me make this clear: A fit, motivated and focused Adebayor is not just 'better' than who we've been linked with, he blows them out the water. I include Zaza, Babacar and Remy in that. The problem is whether he's fit, motivated and focused!

77k a week is unacceptable for Adebayor. A young striker with skill and potential no problem, a mercenary no way. I can't believe Steve Parish would do such a thing. Edited by Andy_G (23 Jan 2016 8.07am)

It will take adebayor about 6 weeks to get match fit he hasn't played since May IF SP spends 77k on adebayor he needs his brain tested personally think it's a massive gamble would be definitely be throwing money down the drain

Can i ask what that's based on? He's only got to have a jog around for 90minutes a week.. I think you're putting these players on a pedestal.. it's not difficult to become 'match fit' at all.. It's their career to stay fit.. I keep fit with a full time job, it's not tough.. what makes the difference is the talent, instinct and knowledge of such a player.. to which he appears to have plenty imo..

What a great insight I like the potential of us gaining a player on lower wages. But all this raises to me is how hard will he try for 50k a week ? He could think there underpaying me cabaye makes more I'm not the star....... Sulk sulk sulk....... I'll just kick up about it and put other players noses out of joint. But that's the point. He'll still be on 100k a week - at least until the end of the contract (assuming 6 months). He'll play out of his skin to try and earn a contract extension if we do 6 months. Leaves us in a good position at the next window - we can extend, or shop for a better option. I have a feeling that it'll all break after the Spurs game - why would they pay a player to play against them and potentially dent their top 4 aspirations?
