Todays first download is a classic show by Mike Oldfield that was recorded at the BBC Studios, Shepherd's Bush, London on the 30th November 1973. This is in superb quality and the audio for the show has been taken from an FM broadcast and it sounds top notch. The classic Tubular Bells is performed live in the studio and a list of top musicians are appearing, apart from Mike Oldfield there are appearances by Steve Hillage, Mick Taylor, Fred Frith, Karl Jenkins and Pierre Moerlen... the whole show is MC'd by the great Viv Stanshall. This is great stuff and if you want a live version of Tubular Bells - look no further than this boot... this is thoroughly recommended.. Todays second download is a short set by Carole King that was recorded at the Saitama Super Arena, Saitama, Japan on the 10th November 2007. This is one of the few audience recorded boots that I've posted - and it's a great recording - I've heard worse soundboards than this. Carole was performing in Japan for the first time in 17 years as part of the "3 Great American Voices" tour which featured Mary J. Blige and Fergie - a member of the Black Eyed Peas. Some classics on this one includie "It's Too Late" "You've Got A Friend" and "I Feel The Earth Move". If you like Carole King - then grab this one... for an audience recorded show this is the mutts.... Todays first download is a set by Yes that was recorded at the Forum, Inglewood, California on the 5th and 6th October 1978 while the band were touring on the Tormato tour of 1978. This is in superb quality and the audio for the boot has been taken from the soundboard vinyl rip and it sounds top notch. I've posted other shows from this tour in the past and this is another top sounding show for the collection. The classic line up of Anderson, Howe, Squire, White and Wakeman perform classic from Close To The Edge, The Yes Album and Tormato. If you like classic Yes - then grab this one!. This is thoroughly recommended. Todays second download is a set by New Model Army that was recorded at the Stadtpark, Hamburg, Germany on the 23rd June 1989. This is in superb quality and the audio for the show has been taken from an FM broadcast of the set and it sounds top notch. According to my files this is the first bootleg by this band that I've posted - but not the first album as I've posted two of their studio released albums. If you like New Model Army and want to hear a live show... give this one a try... this is thoroughly recommended.. Todays extra download is a set by The Go-Go's that was recorded at Emerald City, New Jersey, USA on the 31st August 1981. This is in superb quality and the audio for the show has been taken from an FM broadcast of the set and it sounds top notch. According to my files this is the first album or bootleg by this band that I've posted - which I found hard to believe, but double checking confirmed this. The Go-Go's are the first all female band that wrote their own songs, played their own instruments and got to no.1 on the US Billboard Album Charts. The singer Belinda Carlisle went on to have a successful solo career. If you know this band then give this show a try... this is well worth the download...
