if, and i know its a big if. we were going to invest that much money into one player i hope its not a striker but a winger (ince) as the previous 2 seasons proved with murray its not the striker its the chances you create him!
im not knocking murray here...but lets face it, season before last he scored 7 (?) goals, and was poor...last season we have 2 wingers creating chance after chance and he got 30...i honestly believe jermaine easter would have scored 20+ last season with the service our strikers got. thats why we need a carlton cole or similar on a freebie, and spend the money on wingers, as if it wasnt for zaha last season we wouldav been bottom half again. I think you're right but I also think we won't get anywhere being overly cautious with money. If we could get Ince and Rhodes for £20m and then had to pay them £20k a week that's £22m out of the guaranteed £50 we get upfront. If you allow for some money to be paid on appearances and staying up I see the initial outlay being £16m and money well spent in my humble opinion !

I believe Rhodes is a natural goalscorer, he's scored goals at every level he's played and £6.5M imo is amazing business. Considering Rodriguez went to Southampton for £7M this is an absolute bargain if it's true.

If we could pull this off we will be strong next season. I'd personally rather Rhodes here than Ince. I believe Rhodes is a natural goalscorer, he's scored goals at every level he's played and £6.5M imo is amazing business. Considering Rodriguez went to Southampton for £7M this is an absolute bargain if it's true. especially as less than 12 months ago blackburn paid 8m for him!

Jordan Luke Rhodes (born 5 February 1990) is a footballer who plays for Blackburn Rovers as a striker. He started his career at Ipswich Town and after loan spells at Oxford United, Rochdale and Brentford he joined Huddersfield Town. In the 2011–12 season, he was the top scorer in England with 36 league goals, breaking Huddersfield's club record for most league goals scored in a season.[2][3] In August 2012, he became English football's most expensive player outside the top flight when he joined Blackburn Rovers for £8,000,000, equalling Blackburn's record transfer fee.[4] Although born in England, Rhodes opted to play for Scotland, becoming eligible through having attended school in Scotland while his father Andy Rhodes played as a goalkeeper for Scottish football clubs. Rhodes has represented Scotland at both U-21 level and as a full international.

As he is a sought after player considering they paid 8m 12 months ago . his value would of gone up. Also parish said no marquee signings and that would triple the transfer record.
