Potentially making signings give us a better chance of staying up but it isnt fullproof. It gives managers options but whose to say we havent got the right personell here already. I dont believe everything a manager says. He made a rash assertion about our defensive qualities which i think he has since reconsidered. This isnt Stoke where he had a rich benefactor willing to splash large amounts.

True enough maxi, but then not making signings isn't fullproof either. At this stage it would surely be better to get in one or two than none at all?

TP is the one to say whether or not we have the right personnel, and most of his recent statements suggest that we are still a bit short of what he wants.

lets also remember that backhalf fixtures are nowhere near as congested as the fall so depth is a bit less important.

The only reason why we will need multiple players for depth is if we make a deep FA cup run or have some replays.

If we lose to Wigan (which sadly i expect us to do because i dont think TP fields a strong team with Hull 3 days away), we will only have 1 short rest game (everton).

I think that as long as we bring in a central defender (Ramis from Wigan) and a striker (Jones from Stoke) we have plenty of cover everywhere else.

If we can f*** Jerome off and replace him with Jones as a Loan and pay a few million for Ramis we will have enough cover everywhere, wont damage the current team spirit and will give ourselves a great chance at staying up.

My understanding is that he refused to play for Stoke because of differences with Hughes, but Pulis and him get on I believe.

Also his wages cant be a lot different than Jeromes who I believe we are currently covering in full. Even if he is on 5-10 thousand more than Jerome, surely that isnt much to pay for someone who is likely to score more goals.

Jones appears to score 1 goal every 6 Games so i would not sign him.
