Good in the Air, But s***e everywhere else. Lacks pace and cannot pass. That was before he was out for 18 months. Tony Pulis mention the aim is to stay in the cup, So that Rules out Paddy playing then.
Was expecting him to be on his way.
The article is incorrect too as his contract expires next season. Should thank him and pay him off.

That's generous. I wouldn't go so far as to say he's "good" in the air.

Not worried about this news.

He'll injure himself getting off the team coach on Saturday, ruling himself out until June.

He was in the squad at WBA last round and never got on as the game was in the balance. If we go 2-0, 3-0 up he might get 10 minutes as a gesture but cannot see him starting and think Tony Pulis might be trying to give him game time so he can loan him out rather than paying his wages until 2015 for doing nothing.Without playing nobody will risk taking him except Holloway who is welcome to him.

"Dwight Gayle- That is another possibility"??? You'd have to be crazy not to play him in this match. And Bannan better play as well. If we lose him i will be seriously miffed.

Poor old Paddy. He really has done nothing too wrong and he cannor help his natural limitations. What he can help is his general attitude, fighting spirit and honesty. I hope the modern game has room for these. Man Utd were beaten in a scrap last night against just that kind of player. It probably wont work, but I hope it does or, like KP, he moves on with our best wishes. Good to see KP come on for the Foxes and play a big part in the goal. Still has something to give at a lower grade and Paddy hopefully will do the same.

It speaks volumes for TPs opinion of Gayle that he features in the same sentence as McCarthy.

Hmmm?

I don't know whether to be afraid or say welcome back

While I am pleased to see him back in circulation I personally doubt he is any where near match fit and I would be scared to play him right now. I also doubt that he has the necessary pace now so lets leave his return until next season.

For those with memory problems Paddy was a cross between Franco Baresi, Franz Beckanbaeur and John McCormick with a touch of Titus Bramble. Hope ths helps!

Didn't think he'd play first team again but ability discussion aside I am happy for him. Must have been a horrible time out.

When players are out of the side for a long period, it does seem that the fanbase either holds the memory of their mistakes and sees their absence as a positive or they only remember the good and people see them as a saviour.

Given he's been out so long, I guess the assumption is that he will struggle at this level. A lot of people felt that would be the case if he had never got injured. Then again, a lot of people though Delaney was not up to the PL standard (or in Ipswich's case, Championship) . Similar with Gabbidon (me included) .

Personally I think a fully fit Paddy at his best would do a reasonable job. I suspect he might be some way off that but if not, it can only be a positive. He certainly has good qualities.

Who knows anyway - maybe he makes the 25 and come the last game of the season we have another Hillsborough scenario (the survival I mean) and an injury at the back - that leadership, experience and no-nonsense defending might come in handy. Just glue his fingers together so he can't pull shirts!
