Why should CPFC pay for something that was beyond it's control? The loss of money would either impede future growth, or push up ticket prices.

An apology for what exactly? The weather!? As should the government take the blame for all these floods!?!? Get a grip. Nobody is responsible for mother nature, or the current effect it is having all over the country.
I'm sure the stadium itself offered alot of protection to the pitch, so the weather inside the ground was probably alot different to the weather outside it. I'm also guessing it's a pretty big decision to call a game off, for whoever has that authority.
So please do tell me exactly what you would like an apology for, and from who would you like it..... Your mum, for creating such a fool??

It never hurts quite as much when you an expenses paid trip though does it? Lots of people would have lost time at work, paid for travel and probably booked further time off work tomorrow knowing they had a long journey home.

A red weather warning is 'not one of those things', it is a very rare occurrence and put quite simply it was irresponsible to think that it was safe for fans of both clubs to travel to the ground. As soon as a red warning was issued, the game should have been cancelled. This should be a straightforward policy that the FA introduce for the safety of football fans. If train services are being stopped and roads are being shut reasonably local to the ground, what right does a football match have to take place?

It appears that common sense has disappeared in circumstances like this and football is bowing to the pressures of financial gain (overseas tv contracts etc ) ahead of the safety of regular football fans.

Of course a decision could have been made earlier to prevent unnecessary travel particularly as a Red Weather Alert was issued by the Met Office at lunchtime & the M6 motorway was closed at 5pm

Red alerts (potentially a danger to life) are rare & more heed should have been made of this by Everton FC as a Club & travelling fans

Yes Everton have apologised but I heard that they weren't prepared to initially delay the KO even in the knowledge that the Palace official coaches were delayed in traffic & would not arrive in time for the scheduled 7.45pm KO

The real problem is the Premier League who need to look at the midweek & Bank Holiday fixture scheduling to avoid fans having to take time off work to make long & difficult journeys when public transport is limited/ non existent

Looking at tonight's fixtures for example it would have made more sense for Fulham to have played us & Everton to have played Liverpool

As Barclays would say - We( the fans) are football yet are treated with utter contempt
