Also, read this. Heysel wasn't Liverpool fans, it was a joint operation by many of the 'Firms' at the time. You can't just blame Liverpool, it was England versus Italy in reprisal, you may just as well blame the influence of 'The Italian Job'.

Why oh why did they put Ultras right next to the Liverpool supporters separated only by a flimsy fence?

Secondly [and by far the most significant contributing factor that directly led to the deaths] why was a game of such importance played in what ought to have been a condemned building? The arrest of random Liverpool supporters was nothing short of a deflection and scapegoating.

In short, Liverpool fan culpability was way down the order of contributing causes.
