The more ideologically driven someone is the more they fall into the trap of simplifying people and the political landscape. It just seems like a bad starting point.

Jamie doesn't come in for quite so much criticism as the rest of us because he's fair, self aware, not waving a finger at anyone, and generally has really fleshed out ideas about the world.

As for debate, almost everyone is constantly looking to reaffirm their own ideas, rather than change their mind about anything. Which in and of itself suggests that on some level we all know we hold somewhat brainwashed views of the world.

Jamie does, in fact, come into quite a lot of criticism.

I'd agree with your opinion that's he as a very good poster, independent of whether people agree with him or not, that's recognised by many, including me.

However, you're wrong to accuse me or something yet ignore it when Jamie on the very same page has done the very same thing.

I don't really have an issue with the 'lefty righty' generalization thing in practice....How could I as I use it myself....I was only pointing out that I thought Jamie's point was wrong about the right's general attitude towards the NHS and Welfare.

You've kind of blown up that point......It isn't that big a deal.

People can, 'lefty righty' away as much as they like, surely.....And posters can tell them they are talking BS in reply.

That's apart of the knockabout. And sometimes people's views are informed.....And yes, indeed, sometimes altered.

I've been informed by the forum and some of my views altered by posters whose views I read and respect.....Right or left or neither.

A closed mind is a limited one.

Yes I agree on the knockabout point on here, there's definitely something to that. I'm sure people would find more commonality in person. I can see it now. Matt and Nick, arm in arm.

If you were a true Palace fan, you wouldn't have posted that at 3.19 on a Saturday match day.

You would have been otherwise occupied.

Troll.

Ever heard of a laptop, Matt? I often comment in game threads during live games too. Is that okay with you? It seems I need to check.

Troll this, troll that. Get back to making Columbo style sweeping generalisations of the black community picked up while trying to get your end away. That's more entertaining .

No sale. The dig in the second paragraph is trolling. So when you are denying trolling, you are trolling to do this!

You throw all sorts of expletives and crudeness at people on here and you know it. Unless you're completely lacking in self awareness you're as much as a 'troll' as you accuse me of being. You just get annoyed that I don't take the bait like Nick sometimes unfortunately does.

I have been waiting for years for someone to make this childish point on a post.

I could have guessed it be Mr "two torches short of a lynching".

Matt, I'm definitely one for the knockabout and robust views myself but it's regrettable that you appear to hold genuine animosity towards some of the resident lefties.

None of our opinions are going to change the world in any real way and it's a shame when we take it all a bit too seriously.

I think, that's one of the things that I've learnt over the years on Hol.....We argue our corners but it's never personal.

You never know, you might actually like them if you ever met up in the pub.

I go too hell for leather occasionally when I see something that doesn't align with my own biases, so to be fair I'm a bit to blame. But as many of my posts suggest it's important to find commonalities. Regardless of our political hue we should value that quality in each other. The ability to step out of the knockabout and see that we are more alike than different.

That's why I have the odd dig at the Matt vs Nick run-ins. It's because it's so relentless and negative, that I convince myself that there must be a kind of unsaid affection or affinity, because without that hope, then it's just quite tragic really.

I have a theory about you Peffers. It is that you are a deeply unhappy person, filled with hatred, regret and jealousy, and you project these emotions onto others to make yourself feel better and superior.

Your completely unfunny and irrelevant posts of the last few days have only validated this theory, as instead of debating UKIP's policies, you have thrown a bunch of insults out and attempted to project yourself in a superior light. Have a look back over the last few pages of this thread if you don't believe me, or want to believe me.

I don't hate them. I wouldn't want to meet any of them. Particularly Gusset and Iamatroll.

Don't be suckered by Iamatroll. It has a trolling agenda. The multiple usernames are underlining its intentions.

Plus you love starting a fight on here, so all this victim stuff adds hypocrisy to the list.
