OK - a different thread - who do we think were the 5 most exciting? The ones who really set Selhurst alight with anticipation?

My pick

John Hughes only scored four goals for us so you are probably basing your "honourable mention" on that wonderful goal that he scored against Sheffield United.

I was there at the time and remember the goal quite clearly but haven't a clue who scored the other goals

Rachid 'Harpoon' Harkouk? With Palace for a short time and was top scorer for a short while. By then the rot had set in and he didn't stay, went onto disappoint at QPR. Very 'unfinished' style and so clumsy he even tried it on with the mother of one of my mates at a Palace evening at the Mitre in Broad Green. Swindle came down that night and almost had a bundle with another local who said he'd deliberately missed a couple of open goals in a cup match. At least the players seemed a real and homely local affair despite all Vegetables had tried to do. But Harkouk on that hallowed list? Never

I was there too and couldn't remember the other goalscorers either, but the record books tell me they were Tony Taylor, John Hughes (2), Gerry Queen and John McCormick.

I'd have trouble picking just five players, but I would have to include Johnny Byrne definitely. For an honourable mention I would add Cliff Holton.
