Apparently he was a "loving, kind, caring and affable teenager" ... "he never harboured any ill will against anybody nor did he ever exhibit any violent, extreme or radical views of any kind".

Good job he wasn't a nasty bloke, goodness knows what he would have done then.

I find the tone which the media speaks of jihadists that are under 18 as primarily victims very annoying. When we're talking about 14/15 year olds I have a little more understanding that they can be exploited but at 17 your decisions are your decisions.

Nope. I take it you don't have a 17 year old of your own.

I think you are being unfair to 14/15-year-olds, they would consider putting people in cages and setting them on fire a bad thing.

Brainwashed or bullied? What a terrible waste of a young person's life. So sad for parents to have their children hijacked to do these evil deeds.

The sad truth is that these kids are being groomed. They believe they are fighting a worthy cause. We all know it's not 'worthy' but through western policy in the Middle East it is understandable why some might think they are fighting an imperial monster, exploiting Muslim countries.

What we need to do is truly understand young Muslims grievances. What type of kids are more likely to be exploited. How can we stop and punish those who abuse the innocence of these kids.

A number will suggest that is liberal nonsense. However, I think a number of these young people are victims, just as a 16/17 year old kid is who gets exploited into believing the EDL or Britain First are have legitimate political causes.

One less ISIS traitor to worry about. No sympathy from me. We should grow some backbone, give ISIS their wish and wipe them out, just like the dinosaurs.

Quite a big number I think you will find.

How many people have EDL or Britain First killed? As unpleasant as they are, it is ridiculous to compare them with ISIS.

Sadly that isn't possible without killing many thousands of innocents. That's where we fundamentally differ from these monsters.
