Some years ago a small rural town in Spain twinned with a similar town in Greece. The mayor of the Greek town visited the Spanish town. He was simply amazed at the Greek mayor's house: gold taps, marble floors, diamond doorknobs, it was marvellous. How about you do the detective work for a change and prove they didn't say that? It's a lot more effort than posting "Bender" obviously. Belligerent..... that adjective suits you perfectly. Empirical evidence.... hahaha you jest.... more like Wikipedial evidence. Deep down you know it.
Me and my "antiquated views" like expecting someone who has borrowed something to give it back. I can still remember the time that you thought Forest Hillbilly was being serious about solar panels affecting the Sun... that is Priceless.
I've got a pre-season training session tonight so I'll be too busy getting sweaty with a group of other men I'm afraid.

So let me try and put it in as simple terms as possible for you. I clearly stated that blame lay on all sides at the elite level, mainly through European (German, mostly) banks and corrupt Greek politicians. Now that the pretty-much-blameless Greek people have had their dose of "medicine" (the kind of medicine that isn't actually medicine and just makes you worse), don't you think that some of the brunt should be shouldered by others? Come on, you're a conservative, right? You must surely agree that it makes zero sense to raise taxes on small businesses in a recession? These are the types of policies being enforced on Greece by your so-called rightys. So come on, show you've got a brain and come up with some coherent answers as to why you think Greece are as bad as you say and in need of yet more punishment. I bet you struggle.

We shouldn't contribute because we are not part of the monetary union. If you have monetary union, then you must do it properly where poorer parts are subsidised by richer areas, as is the case in the U.S with their states system and even in the UK where Scotland and Wales receive extra funding.

My only contention with your posts previously is your forthright refusal to accept that Greeks are lazy and greedy opportunists... although I now note you are accepting their politicians are/were corrupt. They were voted in by the people and as such cannot ever be regarded as blameless. The IMF's statement today that the deal Greece has accepted is totally unworkable reinforces my view that at best the Greeks are financially incompetent, if not corrupt as well. We now have an impasse.... Germany will not back down and the Greek government surely will not vote for the deal following the IMF's advice (but you never know!). As for my ability to understand economics/finance I worked as an IFA for over 30 years before I retired at 50 ten years ago, financially secure for the rest of my life.
