Cabaye McCarthur

Zaha Puncheon Bolasie

Bamford/Murray/Gayle

There are plenty of goals in that. If the permanent striker we need isn't available at a fair price this time around, then I'd rather wait and spend the money on someone like Ashley Williams.

Newcastle have just paid £13m for a 20 year old from the Belgian league which should indicate the madness of the striker market at present.

26th January 2010 - Enter Administration
2nd May 2010 - D-Day 1 - Survival at Hillsborough
1st June 2010 - D-Day 2 - Survival at Lloyds
7th June 2010 - CPFC2010 exchange contracts.

Harry Kane was ONLY a Championship player (and not as prolific as Bamford has been) until last year when he suddenly found his feet and confidence.

Bamford has to be a useful addition to the squad surely?

Far prefer the try before you buy approach to a buy and cross your fingers approach myself.

Come on mate you don't honestly think this is a "try before you buy deal" do you? Chelsea aren't prepared to offload Remy so what makes you think if Bamford turns out to be amazing for us they're then gonna let us keep him.

This is lose lose for us IMO. And I'm not one of the ones who thinks the kid doesn't have immense potential, it just doesnt make sense as a loan at all.

I think you have the most accurate take on this.

This deal is far better for Chelsea than anybody else.....However, considering the fact that Chelsea had other suitors for Bamford it could be said that we won the race for the B-side of the deal.

It isn't the most exciting signing because it's a one season deal....If the lad does well we won't see him again. It's all Chelsea.

I can't get too 'up' over loans.....I'm more interested in getting QPR's goalie.

Correction.

QPR's reserve goalie

Actually it isn't a correction.

He's still QPR's goalkeeper if he's employed by QPR.
A keeper they very much didn't wish to lose.

The football world moves so quickly these days I'm not sure why people are against good loan signings. Signing a youngster on a 5 year contract guarantees nothing if a big club come sniffing they'll get him.

We've had some cracking loans in the past (I still get misty eyed at Paul Stewart single-handedly winning us promotion). If it improves the squad even for just one season then it's been worthwhile.

No one knows what's going to happen in 1, 2 or 5 years - it's not that kind of game anymore.

And even without seeing him kick a ball I'm guessing he's better than Sanogoals.

I don't see how being loaned an 'amazing' player for a year equals a loss for Palace.

If it goes well, we'll be in a stronger position to get a permanent upgrade. If it doesn't, at least we haven't spunked £10m+ on a flop.

We are signing someone who was arguably the best striker in the Championship last year and everyone seems to be moaning about it yet this time last year when we did exactly the same and signed a winger who had performed magnificently in the Championship but was unproven in the top division everyone was ecstatic.

Robert Green 96 appearances for QPR in 3 seasons (ave 32)
Alex McArthy 3 appearances for QPR in one season (ave 3)

I would consider that second choice wouldn't you ?

I'd definitely rather have Bamford on loan that Jordan Rhodes for £10m. If Bamford scores the goals to make sure we're in the Prem again in 2016/17 then it will have been worth it. As long as we stay up again whatever he does it will have been worth it.

Is correct.

Actually, there is no reason why the top clubs [and not just in this country] shouldn't continue to season their best hot young talent with us if that talent knocks in 20 + goals for us. It would only be one player - probably a striker - so no reason to suggest it would introduce disunity. It wouldn't be forever. Just a for a few more years while we continue to build our infrastructure and evolve a top half squad while balancing the books.

As many have said, if you want to sign somebody permanent splash the [far less] cash on a permanent partner for Dann. By close of window, I would be more than happy with Williams, Cabaye and Bamford on loan. If we were also able to sign somebody like Friend I would say a top half finish was ours to lose.

People who are disappointed if we don't sigh a £15m player overstate the size of our club in their heads. We are still a small club that is trying to build and must plan our procurement policy accordingly.

You used the word correction.....Like I say it's not a correction. I never stated the keeper's selection status but that he was QPR's goalkeeper.....Which he is.....Most teams have several obviously.

You were being pedantic.....So I'm being pedantic in return.
