Funny that the Beeb's own inquiry finds that senior management knew nothing and all the blame is heaped on middle management.

Whole thing's a bit of a debacle - does anyone know anyone at all who, when told Jimmy Saville was a kiddy-fiddler, was in the least bit surprised? Most people I know responded with an "obviously".

I am, however, surprised and, it must be said, a little incredulous about some of the subsequent accusations, which started to look a bit like a witch hunt (I was expecting Vincent Price to appear outside Television Centre with a ducking stool)

Surprised they haven't re-branded CBBC yet.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

I'm surprised there wasn't a bit more of... "He knew, but he's dead now".

That's how shambolic and convenient it seems to be.

They have, but the C has to be at least 100 feet away from the BBC at all times.

Who could forget Binky Baker's thoughtful homage to the great man.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I thought it was a good old double bluff. I think a lot of people were thinking "he looks way too much like a kiddie fiddler to actually be one, his disguise is crap".

I think that's to be expected, of course its not really a witch hunt if you uncover a number of actual witches as well (Clifford, Hall, Glitter, Harris, Denning and Salmon). Moussa is still on going, David Smith topped himself, and a 69 and 74 year old are bailed to appear. Ray Terret was given 25 years, Fred Talbot five years and Johnathon King (and three others) are facing trial this year.

Worth noting that whilst both Starr and Dr Fox were found not guilty, both were proven to have committed acts which would be considered sexual offences by todays standards (Both groped underage girls) - Starr lost his deformation suit on the basis that his accuser did prove in court he groped her). Same was true of Fox its just that it fell short of being a criminal offence (he was proven to have put his hand up a 14 year old's skirt).

Granted the conviction rate has been less than 50% but its been far from a witch hunt some have made it out to be. However given that most sex offences have around a 5-10% conviction rate based on accusations resulting in convictions - Its done rather well.

That was me. It seemed far to obvious that he was a wrong un to have got away with it, although I was pretty convinced he might very well have done some pretty terrible things after watching him with Louis Theroux.

They've had to withdraw the special edition apple tablet for CBBC prize winners, as the 'iTouch Kids' was considered 'too soon'
