It maybe my impression but Norwich's results picked up when he played and tailed off again after he got injured towards the end of the season. Cost them 8.5 million during the transfer window and no doubt on big wages so could be a defender they might want to off load. 6ft 4" Swiss international good in the air and good tech ability according to Alex Neil.

They looked pretty solid at the back at Selhurst Park until he went off just before half time, didn't look so great after the break with Bassong in there.

Heard good reports of him. As long as he isn't a long ball merchant then could be a good shout. Personally I feel we need some extra composure in that area so that we can play out of defence. Might even tempt a double swoop with Redmond ?

Good technical ability and solid in the air.Did well for Norwich before he got injured.

Central defence is an area we will be strengthening.

Good shout! Pity Sunderland stayed up - their right back Yederlin (USA) is a great prospect!

Yep, he'd be one of my top targets.
Should get him for under £10m, he has proved he can handle the league and I'd be very surprised if he's on more than £50k a week.

I believe that Yedlin was signed on 'Loan' from Tottenham. Also got a long throw in his armoury.

Yedlin's on loan from Spurs, a mate of mine supports Sunderland and isn't impressed. Has pace but not proficient at defending. Only kept his place as Billy Jones was his competition & he's gash!

I was speaking about 'Billy Jones' only the other day, a player Poyet signed from WBA. The chap I spoke to says that he has also played at left-back and in midfield and can score from long range free kicks.

Funnily enough I too was discussing Billy Jones just the other day with a knowledgeable 'acquaintance' of mine over a glass of brandy.

He informed me that, whilst playing for Preston, Jones made a massive impact on 'Preston North End' becoming the captain in Sean St Ledger's absence towards 'the' end of the season.

Paul Simpson signed both Jones and St Ledger for Preston.
