I have never understood the people who say they do not want a player or players because they have been in a relegated team.

Bad management, poor tactics, lack of signings and, more than anything, a handful of players not up to standard gets teams relegated. It certainly does not mean every player who played for them is rubbish in the same way as one or two players do not win you the league - the entire team/squad does that.

Remember guys such as Kanu; Defoe; Kinkladze; Carrick, Salgado; Di Canio; Les Ferdinand; Owen; Juninho and Roy Keane, among countless others, have been relegated from the top flight in their time. Were any of them bad players?

You missed out Scott Dann who nobody wanted as he had been relegated twice

Why would we "Plundering the relegated" those teams were relegated for a reason, that reason is the players playing for those teams were not playing well enough to keep their side in the league, we need to strengthen the side not move sideways or backwards.

Agree with a 'but'... Townsend almost singlehandedly kept Newcastle up..of their window signings the guy put in a shift like his life depended on it from what I saw and understand (contrast with Shelvey who ended up not even being in the side and seems to have transferred his obvious poor attitude from the valleys to Tyneside)

If we are looking for a winger to really push Wilf and Yala then he is one I would welcome with open arms

Think most of us will but an England international will certainly not be content on the bench.

nor will yala or wilful. even in squad rotation I'd predict issues.

From AV - none

From Norwich - Redmond

From Newcastle - Sissoko, Townsend, Mitrovic

Not suggesting all, but one of those maybe.

Bolasie Could play number 10 as could Townsend, the three of them swapping round would be exciting to see.

Yes, but he comes with baggage, and could be a disruptive influence in the dressing room, as he was at Spurs.

To be honest I would have him in before Zaha, or Bolasie, as he has far more end product than both of them together, but not at the expense of an unsettled team spirit the club has.

I also don't see any Villa players as a step up, and Norwich only Klose would be of interest, he looked a class act at Selhurst until his injury.

1. Townsend
2. Ayew
3.Redmond
4.Mikah Richards
5.Kieran Clarke

I know Villa have been s***e densively this season but with Dann along side either of Richards or Clarke they would be a lot better - also Richards is a decent right back.

I was impressed with Ayew against us but his attitude and willingness to make runs in behind in what must have been a demoralising season has been really commendable a better option than either Cham or Campbell.

Redmond is promising - but not at the expense of Kaikai who I think can step up next season.

Townsend - speaks for itself a TOP QUALITY PLAYER..

The left-footed Ciaran Clark as well as being a central defender has played at left-back and also in a defensive midfield role.

Wears his heart on his sleeve and gives everything for the cause but he can be rash in his decision making.

I think Pards might go for Colochinni at Newcastle

I'd also go for.

Redmond
Ayew
Townsend
Hoolahan at Norwich I've always been a fan off.
