By getting less points than last season where he got less points than the season before - hmmm.

Depends on what randomly selected dare you chose for your argument. Which is applicable to both sides of the argument.

I've wanted him out since late last season with about 65% confidence I was right. I thought maybe he would turn it round.

I just came across this on the sackpardew website which has probably lifted that up to about 85-90%.

While the website is clearly biased, what I have linked to are verbatim quotes. Had any of them been wrong, or substantively out of context, I don't believe they would still be online today.

Also, the critical thing for me is that from the outside it appears as if his arrogance harms our performances.

Most of those have already been well documented and discussed on this board. He is a cock, so what? He has admitted that he has made mistakes, he started to see a sports psychologist a few years ago to try and change and he largely has.

For every quote against Pardew by a player there'll be another saying how great he is. That goes with the job. Cabaye, Tomkins and Benteke all said they signed because of him. Tomkins referencing how well Pardew treated him at West Ham.

But for that injury time goal at Burnley we would be 13th in the table above champions Leicester. Not only would this have been a decent result, especially from being 2-0 down, it would have meant we were in a higher position than we finished last season.Fine margins indeed ! And of course the "Anti-Pardew" rhetoric we have seen on here would probably not have existed. What a difference a goal makes !

Whether those quotes reflect the truth or not it is very much par for the course for new signings to trot out such platitudes.

I seem to recall that the Cabaye signing took some weeks as it was rumoured that he was waiting to see if any other offers came along

As I said it goes with the territory.

Cabaye waiting to see if a bigger club came in is hardly surprising. From PSG to Palace is quite a drop. I am sure he would have hoped to get European football m

Indeed but the Cabaye we have seen is not the Cabaye we saw at Newcastle.I believe that in general supporters expected a higher level of performance.Maybe "Big" clubs never came in for him as they felt he was no longer of the required standard.

Cockney Rebel, look at the facts, West Ham were relegated in 2002/3 (38 games) with 42 points, therefore to be guaranteed safe we need 43 points, that is an average of just under 1.2 points per game for the remainder of the season, our current average per game is 1. Don't shoot the messenger!, AP cannot continue to ship goals if we are to reach safety which is what I assume we all want?

Lots of "if only's" Willo hence the reason he has to go sooner than later,

With respect only one - "If only we hadn't conceded that last goal." ! Totally different picture.

Sorry Willo, you could also say had we not given away points at home to Bournemouth,West Ham and West Brom then the picture would be much different, but we did and its the trend of losing too often that concerns us all!

I understand your argument but I was focussing on our most recent game and the sheer disappointment of conceding in injury time having fought back from 2-0 down to make it 2-2, triggering much lively debate regarding Pardew ! I believe the facts I have presented are valid, highlighting the fine margins.

For avoidance of doubt, the trend of losing far too often and NOT putting enough "Wins on the board" concerns me as well. After the abject second half of last season, I can appreciate supporters seeing 4 consecutive defeats and thinking "Here we go again".
