On many occasions this season. From burning Brighton flags, abusing chairman on twitter. Wishing death on Hennessey and hoping he’s still injured. Throwing soaure shirt back at him after his recovery. Singing Speroni name when Hennessey in goal yesterday. It become a far to regular occurrence. I feel it getting worse game by game.

Anyone else feeling this

We are the best fans. This is absolute hogwash. You are not fit to wear the shirt

I think that if/when we get relegated we will lose the moaning and booing glory hunters next season and can re-build around our core 10,000.

Lefties that take the moral high ground make me laugh. We're all preached to about tolerance. Until they see something they wont tolerate!
You might not agree with some of the things the Palace fans have said/done. I wouldn't say I would either but last time I looked it was a free country. As long as no one is being physically attacked and no laws are being broken its actually got nothing to do with you. Unless someone appointed you king of Palace fans when I wasn't looking?

I've read your comment twice and I still can't figure out what "lefties" have got to do with it. Do you mean that Socialists are politically opposed to Palace fans booing the team?

When you have circa 20k+ fans at home games - guess what?! There's going to be a lot of different types of people exhibiting different kinds of behaviours!

Yep, some might be a bit extreme but by and large, we have a good fan base. That said, people are allowed to vent their anger if they're not happy!

If you spent £40 at a concert, theatre or show and the performers were well under par ... would you not complain?! Especially when you know the performers are off form or seemingly uninterested! In fact, you'd do it once and never go back! Let alone book another ticket for the same show a few weeks later hoping it'll be better!

It's a business, they are paid handsomely to perform so sod them if they are put under pressure by some sections of the crowd!

It's been a shower of sh*t so far this season and they need to know! They perform then we get behind them and some ... they don't then expect the wrath of the crowd! Simple!

Wouldn't bet on it. Most of the biggest 'moaners' claim to have watched us since we were s**t.

I am a socialist and never boo our players or leave before the end of a game. That is because I don't think it helps the players and is not what being a Palace fan is about, nothing to do with politics. However I think we have a right to be fed up with the way that the club has been run since the resignation of BFS and have every right to make our feelings known in ways that don't damage the club.

Well that’s 2+ years of frustration I suppose coming to a head. Lots of fans are frustrated. Yes we got to an fa cup final but the team has been stuttering for so long now, especially at home. This season I feel is different a culmination of self inflicted cock ups which is why we are seeing all the vitriol.

What on earth will we do it with as most of the current squad would have to go because we could not afford them and the lose of income would be devastating for the club and then we would have to build the squad fro scratch and the last time that happened we were relegated further down the divisions!

Sadly this reads like a metaphor for how the world has become. I’m going to call it “The age of expectation and aggrievement”. Turn on the average (so-called) news programme, and after a few headlines about Trump, Brexit, some people being blown up, we then get in to a string of “aggrievement” stories - “not fair”, “not enough money spent on me/us/my cause”, “I/we deserve better” etc etc.

I was brought up to expect nothing from anyone that I didn’t work for; to deserve nothing that I didn’t earn; and to be grateful for what I received.

Entitlement, century of the self etc. True that

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.

Excellent point well made Kaos mate,,,,,I've been feeling that for a long time now, it's a strange thing being a football fan, as season ticket holders, we go to 19 or 23 home games depending on division, plus maybe a cup game or 3 per season and it's the same old thing, game in, game out, same old routine, same seat, same people round you!!! But in any other form of entertainment in your social life, you don't go back to the same s*** restaurant over 20 times a year or go to the cinema and watch the same crap film 20 times or more, but in football we just keep going back like sheep for the same old punishment!!!

But surely the point is that the original analogy is off the mark. Once again, the difference between ‘fan’ & ‘supporter’ is missed. Yes, the team have a responsibility to give us something to cheer/celebrate but we need to give them every encouragement to do so. “Chicken & egg” you could say.

If you vented/booed at most events you’d be removed from the building & probably banned

You don’t ‘support’ a show/play/musical/restaurant/gig. Sure, you could follow a band & buy all their recorded stuff yet be disappointed by their live performance - that wouldn’t necessarily mean you’d stop buying.

None of those events have to perform against anyone/anything else let alone something different week in week out.

I’m all for venting but, when we’ve all seen the difference the crowd can make, it’s incredibly counterproductive to do it at the game.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!
