I recall once addressing the multitudes at a function and a well-heeled chap congratulated me for my articulation comparing it to the elaborate introductions of acts by Leonard Sachs on the 'Good old days' !!!!

I really don't think that I matched that degree of florid terminology nor the protracted words but I could understand why he formed that judgement !

Oh, you "address multitudes" too, do you?

Wonders will never cease.

WTF were you "addressing multitudes" about, just OOI?

You didn't.

From what I've already worked out about you, I wouldn't want you to like me. You're a pathetic, weak, illiterate, cowardly creep.

If you liked anything I posted, I would have to ask myself where I went wrong.

Let's see you put your thoughts up for consideration.

Oh not, you won't do that, because you are too afraid to frame any original thoughts.

"Illiterate" means unable to read and write. Not liking a particular kind of literature - a description which your OP meets only in the loosest of terms, BTW - is not evidence of illiteracy. I didn't like Animal Farm. Or The Go-between. Or for that matter Gogol's Zapiski sumasshyedshyevo. Does that make me illiterate?

And he told you exactly what he thought of your post, which is neither weak nor cowardly. If anything, it's too far the other way.

Grow up.

Zig n Zag is right about your starting more than one thread to post the same text and I have merged them both into one thread.

Obviously some people won't find you as amusing as you find yourself but if you use language again like the above you will find a pretty coloured flag next to your name

Fine. It's your ball and we have to play your way.

But just so I understand.

It seems to be OK to use words like s*** and dickhead, in a very negative post.

But words that are generally acceptable in polite society, and on TV, like cowardly and weak, will attract a red flag.

Not sure I understand that, but, hey ho.

I assume on Palace Talk we must confine ourselves to the usual topics.

The Ref robbed us
Parish Must Go
Sack the manager.
Wilf just isn't good enough.

I always thought these were a bit narrow.

The other thing is the same negativity shown to other posters (s***! Dickhead!) is shown to the players. Partly because the narrow minded posters are now getting encouragement.

I bet ZigNZig couldn't trap a ball if you gave him a net, and yet he's exactly the type to come on here endlessly whining about how Ward Or Cabaye or even Wilf are not good enough.

The stadium isn't good enough. Steve Parish didn't save the club heroically enough and neglected to include gold taps in the toilets in the Holmesdale end.

I find that negativity and narrow mindedness incredibly depressing.

It's your web site, obviously, but isn't it possible to widen our horizons a bit?

You're acting like a typical Virgo!

Firstly it isn't my ball as it's the site admin that sets the rules and one of the rules that everyone signs up to is about not insulting other forum members

One can discuss anything in Palace Talk as long as it's Palace related and with the best will in the world many of your posts aren't really Palace related but belong in what used to be known as Fun Talk but in now General Talk

Unfortunately that isn't against the forum rules

As I said, it's not my web site and I just help out with the site housekeeping.

Why shouldn't I act like a typical Virgo as I am one

Why be so pretentious? It is not impressive or clever. It shows arrogance, lack of intelligence and a key board warrior with a condescending opinion of others.

Wasn't there mention a couple of posts ago about not hurling insults at forum members ?

I totally refute the risible allegations about me.
And YES, I can do so without recourse to personal slurs.

What is it with this thread? I read the OP and thought it was a good bit of satire, in similar vein to ‘Punch’, ‘Private Eye’, ‘Eagle Eye’ etc, then I read on and see that it’s generated bilious reaction.

It’s just a bit of fun. What’s the matter with some people?

I concur with these sentiments.

I expressed my positivity in respect of the post, yet somehow I attracted a "Bilious reaction" on account of my style of articulation ! Goodness me, the slurs were so 'Off Piste' and those who know me would shake their heads in incredulity on reading the accusations.

Anyhow, let's get back to the subject matter.

Thanks Midlands Eagle. You sound remarkably balanced for one who must be badly affected by the turbulence around Saturn at the moment. (That will clear up next week, by the way, as the ramification of Palace's one nil away win at Leicester begins to sink in)
