I never thought I would ever say something quite as boring as this, but a car battery charger. With everything going on, I've virtually cut my mileage by 2/3s this year. This means my car battery isn't getting the charge it would and seems to be running low quicker. Plug it in whilst it's still in the car for a few hours and it's fully charged again.

On that note, I also signed up to a new car insurance company called Bymiles. You pay a retainer and then a pence per mile. Signed up about 2 months before lockdown. Without Lockdown I think I would have spent about 60% of all the other quotes, now I think I will spend about 40%

Would recommend them.

Aluminium scaffold tower, for work.

Was hiring these ad hoc, and putting the price on the job.
One came up for sale a couple of years back at a decent price, so took the plunge.

Have used it numerous times, and it has easily paid for itself.
I can now price jobs less the cost of the tower rental, or with the rental cost and make the extra.

I hate heights, but am comfortable on this, just!

By the way, I thought that lock knives were illegal?

Lidl Rice Cooker, honestly an absolute game changer.

Also talking of knives I bought one of these [Link] mostly as a last line of defence to protect myself against bears but also with an eye on doing a bit of hunting out here.

And ridiculously cheap too. I've just bought a microwave rice cooker that cost more than that

Tried a rice cooker and didn’t like it. If you wash the hell and starch out of rice before boiling you shouldn’t have a problem.

friend of mine went on a cookery course at an Indian restaurant and he was told to soak the rice for 20 minutes before cooking

I bought an electric rice cooker a few years ago and also didn't get on with it and ended up sending it back

I saw an ipod touch 7th gen with 128GB on Ebay and snapped it up quick for £160.00.

No more internet music services essentially screwing up and misplacing my stuff, and charging me for it.

And not a phone, magic.

Everything on a small 4 x 2 device simple and so much to learn on it, and loads of space it will take me years to get anywhere near capacity.

Have a £50 Anker bluetooth speaker which sits in the middle of the room connects to anything.

Kids, tired of being bothered by your pesky parents?
Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.
