There are too many dreadful parents around - that is the reason for the problems.
If they looked after their children and fed them properly then things would be better.
Most of these "Parents" are the legacy of Blair and friends as well as poor education generally.
People having kids to get benefits but then spending the benefits on themselves.

Absolutely just vibes.
There are without a doubt some very poor people out there and it is dreadful but it has always been thus and more often than not those with kids do their very best for them as well.
What hasn't always been the case is some dreadful parenting over the last 10 years or so, more than before and they don't care where their kids are, whether they eat properly and so on - as long as the benefits come in then happy days.
I am not saying they are rich off the benefits at all but they have no idea how to bring up children and feed and clothe them.
There are some wealthy, supposedly middle class parents doing the same thing - I am not picking on a demographic as such - or not meaning to anyway.
It is the fault of many people for sure.

I went to Public School and University for free. It was the Tory government that paid for it under their gifted student's scheme. I am from a single parent family from a council estate - but I am white so I guess everyone white gets that.

I didn’t. I left school at 16 after 5 years in a secondary modern and 5 “O” levels. I too lived on a council estate and my head teacher wanted me to go on to take “A” levels and to University as he saw my potential. My mother though would not allow it. She regarded me at 16 as a breadwinner, not another cost. So I worked, but did OK anyway. Whether I would have prospered more with a degree is something I have often considered. It didn’t matter once I achieved management positions. Once there it was performance that won, but I might have got there earlier and then who knows.
