I watched the first half & then turned it off - to me it looked like the only team that were likely to score was Newcastle & the way Everton were playing up until half time unless they changed a few things they could have played all night & still not scored.

I see from the BBC report that DCL came off the bench & had an effect- I suppose that means he is going to be fit for Sunday.

You missed a very eventful second half, including a protestor tying himself to the post, a worker releasing him with a bolt-cutter as big as a tree, a scally coming on to the pitch to punch the protestor in the face and - back to football - a controversial sending off and a last minute goal.

They must be absolutely knackered after that, will have only 2 days to prepare (compared to our 5), have more absentees, have to travel down to our gaff and (above all) are absolutely sh1te.

This one is ours to lose.

Newcastle have lost their last two games, conceding late goals in both of them.

Thanks for that summary Silver top, I almost wished I had stayed tuned in just to see the protestor & bolt cutter shenanigans, lol

I suppose the big question from our side is - how many of those that featured in last nights game will play on Sunday & how knackered will they be?

What a terrible shame. Any more losses and heads will roll.
