Did he go to the World Cup ? Not asking sarcastically, just can’t remember if he did. If he did I’m sure he never played.

A number of current England players (including Guehi) didn't go to the world cup. It doesn't make them any less England players.

The biggest football tournament in the world, 2 months ago and he didn’t get in the squad. What did we take , 5/6 center backs ? It doesn’t make him any less of an England player , really?? Ha ha.

Your forgetting England have a T****r as manager as well as Palace

I think he’s a decent enough player.
But the England manager didn’t think he was in the top 6 CBs 2 months ago (I can’t remember a big outcry that he wasn’t picked), Chelsea let him go 18 months ago and no one has made a bid for him.
He’s not a world beater is he? If a silly bid comes in, I would take it.

We should hopefully avoid going down, get rid of the dead wood and the team should look something like this:

1 GK Johnstone or Guaita

RB Clyne
CB Guéhi
CB Richards
RB Mitchell

CM Ahamada
CM Doucouré

RW Olise
CAM Eze
LW Schlupp

ST Édouard

SUBs
Rak-Sakyi
Andersen
Mateta
Hughes

Time for Ayew,Luka, ward,McArthur and tomkins to move on. Bring in some new faces buy or youth.
Hoping that Zaha stays but who knows

Changed my mind about Tomkins keep him

Southgate took Conor Coady instead who was obviously never get a game and has not even a medium term England future (he's 30) but he did do an early press conferences so I thought that might be a weird but plausible reason for him going.

Missed opportunity to give a good young England prospect some tournament experience even if Marc, like Coady, was never going to get a game.

Based on yesterday?

If so, we had to play 2 holding midfielders very deep and Clyne very narrow, giving Estupinan the freedom of South London from which he got an assist and incorrectly had a goal ruled out, to protect Tomkins' from being caught 1 on 1 with space behind him. Fulham exposed what happens if you leave Tomkins with space around him. Any time we play him, we will be pegged in our own half.

The best argument for keeping Tomkins is that we have so many players we need to bring in that a 4th/5th choice centre back replacement is far enough down the list as to be something we can deal with the following summer.

26th January 2010 - Enter Administration
2nd May 2010 - D-Day 1 - Survival at Hillsborough
1st June 2010 - D-Day 2 - Survival at Lloyds
7th June 2010 - CPFC2010 exchange contracts.

With respect. He took 6 people instead of marc
Yeah apparently Coady is great around the team.

Some wag on the after match comments on facebook suggested to put Tomkins up front because his record in front of goal is as good as Mateta's mwa ha ha...

Our new policy, if we are to see it through, of buying young talent works upon us being able to sell a player on every couple of years for a decent fee in order to further reinvest. We need to have pathways for players to develop as well. From our recent purchases Guehi has developed well and is probably our most sellable asset. Olise sill has big potential but inconsistent. Eze has stagnated. Decoure is having a fairly decent first season in the prem and could attract interest depending how we finish the season. It pains me to see how well Brighton are doing this, they either have someone already in their ranks to takeover from departing players or have signings identified immediately.

Obviously at the end of the season no one wants to sell their best players but as a club we have to be open to negotiation and have a plan in place to quickly reinvest. Again Brighton have done this seamlessly with the sale and replacements of players like White, Cucurella and Bisssouma. All of their purchases obviously haven't always worked out but when for every decent sale you can invest in 3 or 4 new players you can swallow some busts Locadia, Maupay, Jahanbakhash.

Without players being sold we're currently working on a very tight budget which basically requires every signing to be a sure fire hit... that's not sustainable as there's not one team in the division that doesn't make mistakes in the transfer market.
