Yes, this kick upfield was definitely applauded...by lots of Italians!

An excellent try. To be clear I mean a kick upfield that finds touch and brings about the line out. That's all Ayew had to do, find touch and then the team resets for the throw in, same sort of theory. There were literally seconds left, In which 10 of them Brentford found the equaliser.
Don't they practice this in training?

Go back a few seconds, Eduoard back flicks to Ayew, near the half way line. Ayew has space to run or return ball down the line to Eduoard. In stead he tries a cross field pass to Eze…why? There was less than a minute left. 100% Ayew fault

Ayew looked like he was seriously flagging. And to be fair to him, he'd put a shift in and had a good game up to then.

Agree with a lot of the sentiments on subs.

Up until extra time, we were doing well and looked the more likely to get a 2nd. But when they started pressing it felt like 2 of Luka, Macca, and Hughes.

I guess the only issue, if I understand the rules correctly, is that we would have had to make that sub at the same time as the Mitchel/Richards one. and from memory we were still doing ok at that point

That was precisely what I used to coach.

Knock the ball out for a throw as near to the corner flag as possible. Then set up for the trow deep inside the opposition half.

I think anyone would have taken a draw before the game kicked off but as Willo said to give a goal away with the last kick of the game is suicidal and something we are doing far too often this season. Both Mitchell and Andersen have proven to be vulnerable to high balls in to the box and yet again this has cost us valuable points. We are separated from the 18th place relegation spot by just SIX POINTS versus and our goal difference is equal to West Ham. The upcoming fixtures make difficult reading for us on paper,so yes I'm very concerned, especially when I'm reminded West Ham were relegated in early 2000's with 42 points.

Yes we are seriously in it now, the upcoming games do not good favourable in the slightest in fact I cannot envisage any wins from nine!
After we beat Bournemouth 0-2 I said to my wife jokingly ..I hope we don't repeat the last time we did that! ..and here we go exactly the same, including Zaha being injured.

The only plus is that we have got 4 points from games recently where I expected zero points. In truth we have more points over the season than I expected. We just haven’t been that good at all. The Forrest match before the World Cup break started this present rot but I had been complaining about our tactics/set up from the beginning of the season. Sadly it’s now coming to fruition and I can’t see how under PV we can get out of this - hope it’s just my normal negativity and wins are around the corner to prove me wrong?

Yep, out of position to prevent the cross and nobody tracked runners at the far post.

None of which would have mattered had Ayew not given away possession.

if only my uncle was my aunt etc.

That's like saying if Olise and Eze never track back and make tackles they are not at fault as they didn't give away possession.

Clearly Ayew is at fault, but there were opportunities to prevent the goal afterwards.

Focusing on only one issue is ridiculous.

If only Zaha had put that penalty away....

Look - I think you're having problems understanding plain English.

I acknowledged the errors AFTER Ayew needlessly gave away possession. But they wouldn't have been relevant if Ayew has either retained possession or knocked it further downfield and make Brentford start again from deep.

It's you focussing on one issue.

Wasn’t Ayew instrumental in the build up to Ezes goal! Try concentrating on the positive, rather than the negatives, you will feel better.

Clearly Ayew is one person at fault, but even after he gave the ball away Brentford had possession at Centre Back, in their own half, and Palace had 11 men behind the ball with 30 seconds to go. It's not like he gave the ball away on the edge of the box, left us out of position, and there was nothing anyone could do to salvage it. We should be defending that comfortably.

In fact, defensively, we're probably in an even better position having given the ball away than we would have been had Ayew run down the line and been tackled.

Read my original post on this subject in which I said it was a shame because Ayew had an otherwise very good game !
