Along with about 5 others today including Original. They’re gonna have a bigger squad than Chelsea. I hope they go down with that tw@t of a manager.

You might want to reconsider that last sentence. If they do go down, he will probably be first choice to replace Roy

He just scored a goal that Schlupp has never managed - and you might add Mudryk to that list

For a fee reported to be under £5 million, I can only assume his salary would have been too big or there are off-field issues. Otherwise, it looks like a bit of a mistake not to have been in for him

Either him or Elanga would have been a great signing for us, even Troare...its so frustrating that Wilf wasn't really replaced. Maybe Franca will be a player...Time will tell.

I would rather have Tommy Cooper.

Let's see how he does over the season. Don't forget that when Townsend joined Everton he did very well for the first few games and then tailed off.

I still cant really understand why we were not in for him (unless we ere behind the scenes).

We knew at the time that spending the best part of £45m on a keeper and a kid was madness for a club of our resources/squad depth.

Just imagine if, instead of Hendo we'd picked up a 2nd string keeper for c.£10m, plus Traore and CHO.

Instead we are a few weeks into the season and jeff is our only first team wide man. What a sorry state.

We were reported to have been, together with Forest, once his move to Fulham broke down.

It's a strange one...Fulham were nailed on to sign him all summer but didn't. And I wonder why. It was only a couple of years ago that Chelsea wanted £70m for him but his career has nosedived since. Palace usually go in for ' under valued ' players, but I don't think we showed any genuine intent with him.

I've never really rated him and there's something about him I don't like. Great goal last night. And he's got something to prove - let's see how it pans out for him.

He's always struck me as a player who may sporadically score great goals and has no lack of ability to perform consistently well however is equally likely to just not fancy doing so for periods.

When you look at the employment of the likes of Ayew, Schlupp, Wilf down the years and others in our team, perhaps the addition of another 'will he turn up/won't he' player was unfancied by all if not just Roy himself.

We already lack depth so perhaps the pennies that have been made/were available, a consistent performer was the requirement. Having said that, anybody would have been better than nobody but c'est la vie.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Agreed - we were in need of a Wilf replacement and knew that both Olise and Franca were injured.

CHO transfer fee was quite low as he was on high wages, but the same is true for Henderson.
Burnley also had a very exciting young left winger who they bought quite cheaply this summer.

So LW were available this summer and it appears we weren't overly interested in signing one.

The squad is so thin in certain positions it is a joke. The bench is so poor too that's the main reason we rarely make subs.

If Franca was signed to play on the left then ultimately that is probably why we didn't sign anyone else for that position. Obviously him being injured is an issue, but we're too small a club to just go out and sign another player, especially one like CHO who I imagine is on high wages. Forest seem to be happy to stockpile players on big wages as they rush to try and establish themselves back as a big club. Personally I'd have preferred Elanga to CHO, but I'm just going to be optimistic and hope once he's fit Franca will prove himself. If Olise were fit then we'd still be a force with him right and Ayew left, but sadly his comeback has now been put on ice.

Franca is 19 years old with very little experience and it's not a good sign when a person this age is already injured as he is.

If he does become good it's going to take a while even years.

Too small of a club you can't be serious teams that have been in Prem for over a decade are not small clubs (value wise we are not small club)

His wages are around what players are paid in this league (We had no issue paying multi other players 100 thousand)

This guy was so cheap it was madness not to try sign him for under 5m

Firstly, I do think it was a mistake not signing another winger, I was just saying the signing of Franca was probably why we didn't go out and sign someone on big wages. CHO is supposedly on 100k per week at Forest. You're right that many players are on that but not in our squad and he hasn't earned that, it's only because Chelsea didn't want to lose him when they thought he was going to be a top player. Personally, I think it could have disrupted the squad. Maybe it would have been a risk worth taking, or maybe we would have been stuck with a disruptive player picking up the biggest pay cheque in the squad. Forest clearly have deeper pockets and would probably have got him over us on that basis anyway.
