Great play going forward today. Everyone played well. Our midfield ran the show. Wet Spam midfield hardly had a touch. Schlupp looked really dangerous and took his goal well. For me Ayew was man of the match. His hold up play was excellent and he played in Eze and Olise time and again. We should be first on MOTD tonight although the Weed are 3 up already!

1) The referee helped us more than not. If he hadn't called the penalty, no way VAR would have awarded it. Other calls, too.

2) I don't understand Roy's subs. Wilf was playing one of his best all-round games ever. Hughes would have helped us hold possession better than Luka. (Perhaps he chose Luka expecting him to waste time by committing fouls.) Edouard offered nothing.

3) We made poor decisions in the final 5-10 minutes. Why not take the ball to the corner flag, or send it back to Johnstone repeatedly?

4) Set piece goals came from individual errors. Olise poor header, Doucoure losing his man, Ward off balance (though credit WHU for aggression).

5) Andersen played a fine first half but looked careless in the second.

6) Johnstone is so good in the air on corners that we'll probably see other teams block/surround him as Spammers did.

7) Mitchell's pace and ball skills are good, but his focus comes and goes. Ward is the complete opposite (except for his focus on the late throw-in).

I agree. It always seems to be a knee-jerk reaction by fans of a team to feel the refereee was against them, but he was quite fair. Could have carded Anderson for his silly wrestle with Antonio but didn't.

I agree. There was another time where I think it was Andersen who clearly fouled to avoid a WH break, and not only did he not get a yellow, the ref didn't even call a foul.

He tended to call everything, which helped us a lot. The 5 minutes in the first half was excessive, as was the 9 minutes at the end.

The pen was really cheap, though. I would have been livid if that went against us. It makes up for some of the sh-t decisions that have gone against us.

For exactly that reason I believe there is no benefit to making a sub in extra time.

There can be a benefit if you want to disrupt the flow of the game where the oppo are on top.

Wilf was spent. First game back, ran himself into the ground with his effort and also took a knock, which he was struggling with, after Coufal fouled him. Maybe that's also why Eze took the penalty.

we were on a complete different level to West Ham ,the stats dont lie ,we ran them ragged, but we have to defend set pieces better it has been a problem all the season we have no natural headers of the ball in the team and to be honest we have not had one since Benteke left. He didnt score many goals but he always cropped up with clearance headers at opposition corners. It is something we need to address next year

Pretty much agreed on all here yet feel we made far too heavy-going of it today. Allowed ourself to be bullied at set-pieces leading to the goals from corners and also struggled against long throw-ins.

Some really nice passing and possession football in the plus column and again adds to the idea that if we acquire one out and out striker of some talent, we can bolster attacking intent that's taking shape from the wings and midfield.

So pleased we never really got in to a relegation dogfight and that we have an energetic team to start next season.

Great game with an end of season feel to it. Nice to be able to relax a bit now. Hopefully, we will target our highest ever points tally to give the team some motivation.

Defending from corners and set pieces a bit embarrassing. I was surprised that Roy brought Edouard on rather than Mateta. I know it's not his proper job but JP would have given a bit of much needed height and muscle defending set pieces.

I understand some criticisms but in all honesty I couldn’t care less now haha.

We were miles better than them, I’m actually quite surprised how rubbish they were, can’t remember anything from them in open play.

Them scoring three out of four corners is obviously dreadful however they looked far inferior to us everywhere. It’s quite surprising given their need to win and upcoming fixtures.

We can breathe for this season, which is most important, well done Roy and well done the lads. I’m suspicious our relaxing could quite possibly see us playing our best football it the remaining fixtures so here’s hoping.

COYP!!!! Great win (eventually)

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Well I thought that ignoring the 3 defensive aberrations, our outfield play today was superb. My MoM is Jordan Ayew, who I thought had an excellent game and didn't put a foot wrong. A close call between him and a number of other Palace players though, which is a nice feeling.

It's just a shame that the 3 disastrous set-pieced meant that I was a nervous wreck for most of the match!

I'd like Guaita back for the next game. He may not be the most assertive at crosses but Johnstone was literally a yard behind the goal line for their third when he should have been attempting to punch the ball out

I dont think theres many better shot stoppers than Guaita in the league but Johnstone is as good and has better distribution. For me Johnstone should be our number 1 from now on.

Wilf is a very difficult character. He loves playing and he loves Palace. He was so angry he forgot he has a bad knock and was limping. That's Wilf for you! But he came back, played from the start and scored a goal.

Wilf was limping from the time he was hacked down over on the left - even when the play was nowhere near him. I assumed that that, and the fact that he'd just come back from an injury lay-off, were the reasons for taking him off, and I still think that.
