Stupid comment. At least half of a vicar’s clients are female. There aren’t nearly enough vicars or nurses in the uk. Without female vicars so many more people would go spiritually hungry and end up spending all their time looking at American conspiracy theories.

Enforced Gender-Equality is all about the lucrative and prestigious jobs.

University professors, Politicians, Boardrooms, etc.

Not really relevant to dangerous or dirty jobs at the bottom of the Labour market.

I read stirlings comment to mean why is there a noted difference of sex, not why the different sexes in certain jobs. Maybe I read it the wrong way!

Hayes at Chelsea looks a very good manager. Same with the current England manager, wiegman (sp?). If you're good enough who cares what gender you are

Sigh.

I thank you for the generous reading but no, I like traditional gender roles. They have served humanity well for most of our existence and we are seeing the damage within society from moving away from them.

I wouldn't ban men from becoming nurses....but let's just say that I think a culture that promotes it is misaligned.

As for female vicars....it's a perversion of the religion....either do the religion properly or don't bother. If I were religious I'd definitely be Catholic or Orthodox I think.

I can't respect something that sells out most of what it's about just to fit in just because it's culturally convenient in its era.

Most women's nature is to maximise their returns....just as men do....it's a human thing.

As someone once said, modern women tend to 'hang around the finishing line and feck the winners'....so to speak....that's their biological nature, just as it's most men's to feck as many female runners long before the finishing line comes into view.

Neither of these behaviours are particularly nice or worthy of praise.

However, whatever is normal about nature shouldn't necessity be harshly criticised exactly because it's normal....So women and men's natural motivations are as they should be....we can only recommend better choices.

What should be criticised is modern life making the worse of our natures far easier to do than the localism of our past allowed for.

It made sense in the past for men and women to get married younger and to have children, now it doesn't....even though it actually punishes many...particularly women later in life, especially those who end up missing the boat because they listened to the blue haired feminist nutjobs.

Cats are no substitute.

Fair enough but it does prove the theory that everything can be read two ways.
I don’t agree with you totally though as meritocracy in work and personal fields or beliefs isn’t gender selective
Artificial selection because of gender, colour or any other pigeon hole though is f***ed up tbh.

It does.

But yeah we obviously differ on the wisdom of equality and its inevitable societal consequences.

To answer you point about that 'meritocracy isn't gender selective' I'll say this.

Of course there are going to be highly competent women who can be lawyers working 70 hour weeks and CEOs and all the rest of the high pressured rat race jobs.

Sure.

However, the number of women who want to do that is much smaller than it is compared to men. It's going to be something like between 1 and 5 percent of women.

I don't believe you stop that, the core of what I'm saying is....what is wise to promote to the majority to women that maximises the chances of them living relatively successful lives. I don't think feminism has done that.

I'm not saying you should close off career choices, I'm saying how do you structure society to better people's lives.....I don't think feminism has bettered the majority of women's lives at all....it's basically been for sharp elbowed middle class women at the expense of everybody else....there were and are just basically enough simpy men who want to feck them or be mothered by them to allow it to happen.

Instead I'm saying that society is best arranged when it fits the majority of people within the bell curve.....not suited to fit the people at its edges.

If only you ever used facts your erudition might have some merit

I suggest you re-read Essay on the Subjection of Women (1869) and, should you get on well with John Stuart Mill and Harriet Taylor Mill move onto Invisible Women: Exposing Data Bias in a World Designed for Men.

Women constitute 39% of barristers, 53% of solicitors and 77% of Chartered Legal Executives. As at 1 April 2022, about a third (35%) of court judges and half of tribunal judges were women.
