If this is our model, it's not going too smoothly on the planning front. So stop telling us Olise and Zaha won't be going in the same window, Steve, when you had no control over this and pull your finger out. Earn that 3 million a year salary

Parish has to come up with the goods now in the transfer market.
I wont slag him off until I see who we bring in. Olise will go now his head has been turned. We just need to turn down any offers for Eze and Docoure. I am sure Roy is on his case to get deals done for players. Time will tell.

Agree. If Parish and the club aren’t careful this could be the window/season when they lose an awful lot of goodwill and support. Not sure Roy was the right decision for another year and I suspect they’re not backing him because they rely on him to get a tune out of what will be an ageing squad (again) if we sell the youngsters. I mean keep Tomkins and sell O’Brien wtf?

I see little ambition and yet again we’ve bought an injured player (in Franca).
Club needs to do something and if I see another speculative post saying a signings a ‘done deal’ when it patently isn’t I’ll scream.

We have a couple of weeks but there does need to be some movement and some incomings as we appear to have swerved some decent signings. Lerma will prove to be a decent bit of business but losing Wilf and Olise is a tough window. If we lose a CB and Eze then we may as well resign ourselves to a difficult relegation battle or worse.

I should steer clear from here then if you got neighbours.

Yes, agree, their are plenty on offer, add Mateta 10m and thats enough money for a winger, forward and a loan. i. like you, will comment after 1st Sept.

"Chelsea have put teenager Lewis Hall up for sale but are asking for around £30 million"

This(imo) is an interesting read, albeit, it is from the bbc on why Chelsea are bypassing/not worried about FFP. What's even worse the FA haven't got similar rules like UEFA have due to what the likes of Chelsea & other clubs have/are doing.

I suppose for some, includung me, the game and being a fan of a club is about dreams, vision and aspiration.
Not just looking around hoping for 3 worse teams each season.
Don't aim low and even then still miss.
We're all entitled to view things differently I suppose.

Again, totally get your point of view. I guess my optimism comes from the fact i'm still aiming high but prepared to accept it might take more time than at other clubs, so we're looking at things in similar ways but over different time lines.

As another poster said earlier, i'd still rather be where Palace are in our progression rather than roll the dice like Everton did and they are now fighting for their lives, trying desperately to stay within FFP by picking up free players and those who may be past their best.

Most teams who have built new stands/stadiums have been relegated while trying to do so or had dips in form because they can't support both the playing side and stadium developments simultaneously. We seem to be trying to walk the tightrope, i hope we really do start that stand redevelopment at the end of the season and finally move to a position where our revenues mean we can compete at the next level up.

At some point we need to kick on and tell our stars that they are going nowhere.
That they are our future - our passage to the higher levels.
All the time we sell - cheaply - we might as well decide which season that we are going to be relegated.
We are going backwards as a club - never more so than right now.
Chickens are coming home to roost!
It is not about Olise per se - it is the smell of demise and straw clutching - scary times.

Agreed. For me, my ultimate ambition for the club is for us to have Premier League football in our increased capacity stadium. I'd be very happy with 11th every season, personally.

I've accepted that when a player joins us, they're joining us for the opportunity to play in the Premier League, against the world's best, hoping to put themselves in the shop window.

You don’t have very lofty ambitions do you? For some, playing for your local team or a team you have always supported means a lot more than just looking at teams like Palace as a stepping stone, or be constantly searching for an opportunity to go and bench warm at a top 6 club and let’s face it, how many of our players in the last 10 seasons have gone on to be playing a starring role at their new top 6 club.

Undermining the relevance of a mid table club especially when it’s your own is not a positive outlook. I want us to slowly build our team into one that is comfortably mid table and challenging for the lower European spots. I don’t believe that is dreaming, because pre season and before it looked like both Zaha and Olise were leaving I reckon we were only 3 players away from being in a position to do so.

I am concerned that the club doesn’t appear (from its transfer dealings) to have the same ambition.

Spot on Lanzo. If we get a few good signings over the line in the next two weeks, how many posters will feel a bit sheepish with all their panic posts?

I'm not being optimistic as I have no idea if we will get players over the line but I don't plan to moan about it until the window has closed and it turns out we haven't done enough business.

So apparently Dazza was not far wrong. Hall signed a pre-contract with Palace but Chelsea insisted he sin a new contract first. This he did, they then pulled the plug on the loan and have put him up for transfer for £30m Absolute scumbag club who youngsters should steer clear of
