I did take a peek at Norway this morning , seeing the shield maidens running around definately .....well you know .

i agree with you. By contrast, the ladies from China seemed to have military haircuts and military everything else.....not very, eh, distracting.

Ireland vs Canada....1pm Wednesday (tomorrow).

Maybe they can have a bunfight about who invented Ice Hockey and whether or not Hurling was the Daddy ?

Was watching Ireland v Canada with the wife earlier. Dunno why really, was just on. The wife was commenting on why so many players had on false eyelashes and the amount of foundation they had on...made me laugh a lot....thinking of them listening to the team talk from the manager while applying slap!

The quality of women's football has certainly improved over a few years ago. At one time it felt ponderous and distinctly amateurish for want of a better word.

Watching England's women this morning was actually a good watch tactically and they showed some very skillful moves, at least for the first half hour or so. The second half went downhill a bit and in the end we were lucky to hang on to the one goal lead.

In short, the women's games are much more interesting to watch these days and England look to have an edge, but they need to show more sustained aggression if they are going to win the competition.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

It’s still crap though and two pages on a football World Cup thread
sort of clarifies that !

Those not watching because of the quality of the game are rather missing the point.
