OMG, not Southgate.

I'd rather he stay in the England job, than come here.

Usual Palace, no plan, if someone they like comes on the market go for him, otherwise hope Roy can do another season to give Paddy another year's experience.

Don’t get the no plan bit - this whole debate is about it sounds like there is a succession plan in place - even this early in the season when Roy is doing very well thank you very much - even though he is short of 2 of best/better players in Olise and Franca - both forwards and would make a huge difference..!!

Personally I think Southgate is nailed on - enforced when I saw him sitting with Parish and Bright for the Wolves game - I think it was..??

Would I be happy if that came to pass - jury out for me Southgate started off brilliantly for England, playing exciting/in form youngsters - now seems to have reverted to type as every other England manager - just playing favourites irrespective of whether they are in form or even starting for their clubs, e.g. Henderson, “McDire” and Phillips - what’s all that about..!!

Your (tongue-in-cheek?) arrogant confidence always makes me smile. I will go so far as to say that I think the current plan may well be to appoint McCarthy subject to his performance alongside Ray and Roy this season. Whether he'll perform well enough this season to get the thumbs up remains to be seen.

Very true, the Vieira Fiasco has frightened the club, and the Staus Quo will be kept; whether it is right or wrong time will tell.

If Paddy no there then it will be Southgate. Continuity of ex England managers is good.

If I remember Southgate did not have a good experience at club level as a manager.

I'd be highly shocked if transfer budget was not a big factor at play were both these to be true. I think Cooper would be foolish to leave Forest just yet and Potter, rivalries aside, may have greater ambition than Selhurst Park but available funds could still be a huge factor.

I am guessing that there is money there to be spent however the board (Parish) may be slightly reluctant given the failed venture with PV. We may see the same approach again however hopefully a better informed one this time.

Rumour ive seen(bbc/football insider), is that Rangers are considering him as it seems Beales time is numbered. IF, he goes there, another Chelsea senario?

Regarding Southgate, I see him as a C list manager with an A list squad. I would not want him at Palace. We need to show more ambition with our next manager. The person appointed will say a lot about us.

Back on topic, I think Potter would be a positive appointment.

A C list manager who has done better with England than the procession of managers that preceded him.

I’d welcome Gareth as Roy’s successor at Selhurst.

Have been saying this for a while. Southgate to leave England after Euros 2024, comes to Palace. Potter to England.

He's coming

In other news, N.Korea is apparently younger than our current manager, not by much though!

I’m guessing the happiness of their birthday is extremely limited… Kim Jong Un marks North Korea's anniversary with parade [Link]

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Didn’t he get M’boro to Europa final although they got thumped 0-4 by Seville?
