RIP I was never a fan of the Man From Uncle but he was good in Sapphire & Steele* which was a creepy low budget Sci Fi series. I loved him in NCIS as Ducky odd that Mark Harmon doesn't appear to have said anything about his death. *Another show for my thread about re-makes. Very creepy but really low budget, both Macullum and Lumley quit because of the poor budget. Edited by Badger11 (26 Sep 2023 8.14am)

Sad news, but he died a natural death aged 90 so he had a long, full life. Not what you might call a brilliant actor and I always associate him with his role as the Russian agent Illya Kuryakin in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. RIP.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Always seemed too much of a pretty-boy to have to worry about his acting. By all accounts a lovely bloke. For a special agent, you're not having a very special day, are you?

RIP - used to like The Man from UNCLE as a kid but it has not aged well. I used to take it seriously but watching it now, it was clearly a comedy.

I'm pretty sure that leaves only one of the Allied characters in The Great Escape, John Leyton, still alive now.

Also in 'Mosquito Squadron' with a host of A- brit stars, Charles Grey being the more famous. RIP Illya.
