I'm not interested in watching England in any case, nevertheless I question why the FA would organise for a meaningless friendly to take place 4 days before a match that actually matters.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

As a positive, I was very impressed with Johnstone's throw outs. I haven't seen him do that for us.

He is a country mile ahead of Pickford.

So I suppose that means he will be dropped for the Italy match next week.

On a negative......Southgate. Please dont let him come back to Palace.

Yeah, but you get that feeling.......

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

And to think that he could well be our next Manager is a real concern.
Great man Manager - useless Coach!

The whole reporting surrounds booing of Henderson. Who gives a f***?

With the money he’s earning now, I doubt he does

True, wouldn't think he would be amongst the best three or four English midfielders though. Surely doesn't really merit selection anymore.

Watched the Game last night, for my sins.
Spent the whole of the first half wondering just how Southgate could excuse playing Maguire, Stones AND Kelvin Phillips, none of whom have had any decent minutes for their club this season. Then had to watch them play like it! Italy passed through our defence time and time again without anyone putting in a decent challenge or block.
Attack was dreary and painful - as per usual, constantly passing back allowing italy to regroup when we got to promising positions.

2nd half was better (coinciding with Guehis introduction?) seemed to be more direct, and play more on the counter. nice bit of skill by Guehi for Kanes goal, but the defender make a right cock-up of it
Bellingham was the difference. Simply sublime, but It says a lot of this Italy team that despite this we came away with a 3-1 win.

All in all, a scoreline that hides much of the inadequacies of this team. The only way he have a chance of euro glory is if JB drags us with him on his way to world domination.

Probably Bellingham by the looks of things, but also Kane. Those are the two genuine stars. Maybe Saka. There's enough talent in the team to win it. But there are some other sides doing well - plus France. I don't think Southgate is good enough but I'm starting to see what his plan is. It's kind of don't concede, have as much possession as possible and work the ball into the box. Hopefully score. Threaten at set pieces. It's pretty conservative but I'm starting to see the point. Can't remember even noticing Phillips for the first half. Seemed a poor choice. Although Rice wasn't brilliant either. Italy seemed to run through at will for a while. Maybe Italy tired plus England played better. Guehi was decent. Best two I've seen recently are Dunk (I know) and Guehi - along with Stones, they would be the best defenders currently, in my opinion. I always liked that Villa one who's name I've forgotten, but he doesn't seem to have pushed on whereas Guehi seems to improve over time.

Tyrone Mings? If so, he's been injured I believe.

An excellent England performance against a very good technically Italy.

Yes, that's it. I was watching Flash Gordon the other day.
