Thanks for the memories Terry, great times. He was years, maybe even decades ahead of his time as a coach. I met him outside the ground several times when I was a kid and he was always a gent, even when I made him drop his suit in a puddle as he tried to sign my autograph book. RIP Just watched BBC News and a piece about Terry. No mention of him managing us; they really don’t like us, do they?!

RIP TV. The team of the 80s is up there with some of the best times of me watching Palace. Pipping Brighton to the title in '79 in that massive crowd against Burnley at SP will remain with me forever. Leaving the following season and taking some of that team with him to QPR blotted his Palace copy book though.

Man was a chancer but behind that had a great footballing brain. Disappointed to hear on all the news articles nothing was said of the team of the 80 But for every team of the 80's there was the fly geezer that showed his love for us by first ditching us for QPR and taking our best with him then the guy who saw Goldberg coming and tipped or club to the brink of it's very existence. But equally Euro 96 a tournament that will always be up there if only as when Gareth missed that penalty the drama of it sent my heavily pregnant wife into labour and it was not only football that came home that summer. RIP Yerry

Not sure if he was a great asset to our club as he always looked after himself but no question of his ability as a coach. His legacy will always be our rivalry with Brighton (arising from his issues with Alan Mullery). Nonetheless, RIP TV.

Back in 79/80, I visited the training ground in Mitcham. I was allowed to call into Terry's office there. He already had a visitor. Bobby Moore. Not only did Terry make me feel very welcome, he also invited me to join in with the first team training drills ! I think that was his highly developed sense of humour coming out I know it wasn't all sweetness and light with him, but his teams gave me some of the best Palace memories. RIP TV

RIP TV Spot on, we were all gutted when he jumped ship to QPR, but I just can’t forget what he gave us for that few years, as you say, some of our best palace memories
