Back in the day when we had smaller squads and one sub it was not a rarity to see players in different positions , indeed some were that good in their new roles they made the position permanent .

True , Ive been saying for some time our centre backs are a problem .Neither are very vocal and both are weak at heading . True , Ive been saying for some time our centre backs are a problem .Neither are very vocal and both are weak at heading . Its a problem that is becoming a crisis .The need for two defensive midfielders in front of them says a lot about their capabilities .
Not sure Eddy is the answer though you never know

I have always assumed that Bright is Parish's man that he sits above the fray and is an elder statesman advisor. If that is correct it makes sense to me that Parish has one person he can rely on as both the Manager and Dougie will have an agenda (keeping their jobs).

Here's some alternate perspective: perhaps our time is up in the PL. We haven't advanced any further than our first two seasons, we spend to stand still, and now it looks like we have spent to sink lower. Such is life in the money sucking sponge Premier League. Not even defensive maestro Catenaccio Croydon Roy can hold back the barbarian hordes that play a modern, attack orientated, high energy version of the game, light years away from that which he tries to instil in his team. No wonder they look pissed off and clueless. Time's up for circus plate spinning act SP and Co.
