Genk have got a replay against Anderlecht due to an error by VAR. This seems a dangerous precedent.

The thought of our having to replay any wins we might enjoy is a worry.

That was my thought too. Just our luck to sneak past Man City then get slaughtered in the replay when Pep has done his pieces at some decision.

I thought one of the many new laws brought in in recent times states only players directly involved in play get done for encroachment
Which would make the VAR correct .

And we still need a striker

With the exception of one goalkeeper, ALL players are 'in play' when its a penalty.

Indeed thats the law BUT VAR guideline says it should only get involved if the encroachment directly affects if a goal is scored or prevented .

In the game against Chelsea the other night there was a lengthy delay at the start of the 2nd half owing to the referee's comms system having a glitch.

This got me to wondering what would happen if during a game the VAR comms system went down? Would the game be held up or would it continue withe the ref and assistants being endowed with the decision making powers of old?

Mu understanding is that the game would continue if there was a VAR technological failure.

I would certainly hope so. Unless we were 0-3 down.

Frightening precedent.

Get rid of VAR, it is ruining the game and atmosphere and the officials are becoming a joke.

Keep goal line technology and thats it.

Do not worry we have had so few wins it is close to impossible, more likely is that we may replay some of our many loses, the odds favour us.
