on Eagles-honour, you cannot use internet search engines.

the prize will be one of the legendary Cheese Buns from the Victory club, on a match-day. Going to whatever Eagle emerges as keen to play and with a keen wit.

for starters :

- "A man does himself good business by ridding himself of a turd".

- "Kill them ALL , and let God sort them out".

- "You should try everything at least once, except for incest & folk dancing".

any takers for these questions ? and what other quotes have you found memorable ? Please use inverted commas.

OK, I'm not going to cheat.

These sound like the kind of things that Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) would say.

The first one is Edward I. The second (I think) might be St Bernard.

I've heard the third one but I confess I can't remember its origin.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

well done Cucking. welcome back....and had a sex-change too ?

Edward Longshanks.

The second quote...kill them all....originally seems to have been in Latin, 800 years ago. See link.

The final quote....i will await another august Eagle's contribution.

more quotes please.

I've heard this one before, but can't recall who said it. Could it be W.C. Fields?

Another quotation to think about:

- "A verbal contract isn't worth the paper it's written on."

That's Sam Goldwyn.

Who said,
"Always carry a flagon of whiskey in case of snake bite. Furthermore always carry a small snake"?

I really don't know Palazio, but I can imagine Noel Coward making a statement like this.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Possibly his most quoted: 'It's hard enough to win an argument with a clever man. Impossible with an idiot'.

Apt for this site and a thousand upon thousand others.

Sounds like one of the Rat Pack or around that time. Maybe someone like Bob Hope.
