We want fewer opportunities for refs (or VAR ) to intervene, not more. What would start out as a simple ideal would soon become a convoluted process. Soon VAR would be consulted to opine whether it’s a yellow, red or sin bin offence. Cue subjectivity and allegations of small team/big team bias etc etc. Those attending a 3pm KO could expect to exit the ground at 5.30pm or later (we’ve already had a 5pm finish this season) as a result. Already at my tethers’ end with VAR crushing our game and considering whether to go to Bromley instead of Selhurst.

Why do people assume that VAR would be used for all decisions? For example it could be restricted to red card or goal line decisions for example. I would have thought that the whole reason it's being tested and not directly implemented is to directly ascertain questions on how positive or negative the change would be. I see no downside to testing.

Im so against this to the point that I won't attend any game that uses it . Teams reduced in numbers will just park the bus and waste time till they are back to full strength .It will spoil large periods of the game . What they should be doing is applying the laws as they were intended to be applied , clamp down on cheating and caution players when they are guilty of poor fouls or descent . And get rid of var . I want my game back all these changes are reducing the spectacle and the enjoyment . And we still need a striker

Im so against this to the point that I won't attend any game that uses it .

The Americans, I believe, have never understood how we can go that long at a game without food & drink.....
