Do we now have seven key players, Johnstone, Guehi, Andersen, Wharton, Doucoure, Eze and Olise, i think we do, and if we stay up, as hoped, who do you think will be at the Club next season. All, 6, 5 ,4 or how many. and who are most likely to go.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

You could even add Ayew to the list since we seem to miss him when he's not playing but whether he'll fit the new style, particularly when he'll be 33 next season, is another matter.
As to who stays could it come down to how much they buy into/enjoy OG's way of playing and a positive crowd reaction rather than just assuming certain of them will actively want to leave? If we can win a few games the feeling around the club will be so different.

Perhaps Ayew deserves to be included for his work rate.

I think Olise will go in the summer if he regains his fitness and plays a few games before the end of the season .

One of the best we have had at the club but the new manager will need some funds and he will provide it

Guehi is probably another highly saleable asset that will go for the right money and the rumours around Johnstone is a worry

The rest we should be able to keep hold of

And we still need a striker

Agree, Olise and Guehi if we have to, Olise because Injurys and Release Clause, Guehi because he could go for close to 100m if 5/6 clubs are chasing him

Guehi is favourite to go, only 2 years left on his 5 year contract, this summer would achieve his optimum price, if selected for Euros.
Eze and Olise signed new deals last summer and are injured a lot, so I doubt anyone would take a chance offering big money, same for Doucoure.
So, only I will go, plus Edouard.

I wonder what Glasner makes of it all.
Our supposedly most talented player Michael Olise is unlikely to play again, so he has been paid £100k a week for 11 games.
In the same top wages is a s*** goalkeeper paid twice was we pay Marc Guéhi.
If anyone is still prepared to pay £60m for Olise we should take it
If anyone is prepared to pay £20m for Henderson they must be mad!!
Priority must be keep Eze, Anderson and Guehi .

I thought Franca had a very good game yesterday and can see him becoming a star very soon.

Talking of star players, I read Eze is nearly fully fit but I have become paranoid that he might get injured again if even slightly rushed back. By god I’d love him to feature against Spurs but should we err on the side of caution and only look to play him for the Luton game?

For what it’s worth I think we should try everything at our disposal to keep both Eze and Olise next season even if it means doubling salaries. If we have to sell a few to balance the books, I would reluctantly free Guehi , Edouard and Henderson.

Okay - slightly controversial - but don’t estimate the influence Joel Ward has on the team. We have missed his leadership qualities - and against both Everton and Burnley he was bossing, organising and encouraging on the pitch. More of a leader that Guehi.
He may not be as quick as he was - but the centre of the pitch seems to suit him.

I am very pleased to see JW back in the team. However, in terms of key players we need to keep, he is 34, MG is 23.

Definitely not. We've already done that to keep them and they're on the maximum that a club of our stature can afford. Furthermore, with their injury records, it would be madness to pay them the best part of £200k a week.

What I think will be interesting is when all injuried players are back, were will they play?

If Glasner sticks with (for me a 3-4-3)

Start with the easy Guehi in for Ward (even though been solid last two games)

But do you drop Ayew for Olise? Or one of Lerma or Wharton for Doucoure.

Where does Eze fit into the system?

Just look at the players out of contract as well at the end of the season

Hughes, Schlupp, Riedewald, Clyne, Ward, Ferguson, Tomkins, I would not keep any of them. Now does that change who we let go in the summer.

Now if Olise has a clause and its activated well there isn't much we can do, if Guehi doesn't sign a new deal then again in the summer we have to let him if a proper offer comes in, Doucoure again if a big offer comes in.

Will Glasner risk the youth and find a gem? Who knows, its will be a long and interesting summer. Never boring being a Palace fan
