I thought yesterday was actually the perfect demonstration of why he may get overlooked by the top 4 and likely will be by England in the summer.

So much of what he does is so, so good .... but his finishing isn't at the very top level.

As soon as that ball fell to De Bruyne on the corner of our box in the City game, I said 'this is going top corner'. They're so clinical. Foden and Palmer both have multiple hat tricks this calendar year. After the chances Liverpool missed against us, half their side got dropped for the Fulham game. There is no tolerance for missing chances at the very top level.

Eze was fantastic yesterday but Pep would be asking him how he only scored one. The one at the start of the second half was only about 8 yards out and Fabianki's been able to get to it. The one just before he got taken off went miles wide. Dragged quite a few wide from the edge of the box in the first half. He should've had, deserved even, a hat-trick.

I think Eze will stay, at least another year, and I think it's Olise those clubs will be really, really interested in. 7 goals and 4 assists in 900 minutes of PL football this season for Olise. Remarkable. For comparison, Eze has 8 goals, 3 assists in 1700 minutes of PL football.

Agree with this. Olise's performances the last 12-18m (when he's been fit) have been frankly ridiculous.

I know this sounds odd, but I think he enjoys himself too much for the top English clubs. Managers like Pep and Arteta would demand that he protects the ball better, moves it on quicker, dribbles less; basically all the things he clearly loves doing. I don't know enough about the top clubs in the other European leagues to know if they would give him the freedom he gets with us, but I do think to get the best out of Eze you have to let him be himself. Hopefully Southgate picks him as a wildcard as he can do things that no other player sees.

Olise is different, he is going to the very top if he steers clear of injuries. He's less of a maverick and his efficiency with the ball has become ruthless. It was obvious last season but this season he's gone to a different level. If we can somehow keep these two next season and they stay fit then I genuinely see us as an outside bet for a top 8 finish.

Le Tissier, Currie, Hudson, Worthigton, Marsh and Bowles, the most gifted English Players i have seen, Excluding Gascoinge, have 49 caps between them, Match winners, the same amount as Eric Dier, that's why England have won sweet FA for 60 years.

Its an interesting observation. And thinking about it, he's not that different to the Grealish at Villa. Who has certainly lost the x factor he had at Villa. But does have some silverware under his belt.

I suspect a manager like Pep would be super clear (on signing) in spelling out what he needs. And if you want to win the trophies, you are willing to do what he wants.

it's great he plays with a smile on his face, but he hogs the ball and loses it far too often in dangerous areas when there is no option but to release it - his decision making needs to improve. Hopefully we can get one more season of him and Olise - but Olise is cake, Eze merely icing. Murphy needs to do his homework before he goes OTT. Although he was amazing yesterday, early doors he didn't play Olise through when there was acres of space behind - if he wants to progress he has to play less selfishly while retaining his enthusiasm - having said that his goal and nutmeg set up for JP were quite wondrous.

yes, that does sound odd. all of the current top 4 managers(ManC,Arse,Pool,Spurs) like to allow their players to express themselves on the pitch. Granted they have the restriction of keeping the ball and quick dynamic passing, which leads to less dribbles, but that's the difference - the team is at the same level. I dare say Eze will enjoy a cleverly played 1-2, and being involved in a well worked team move as much as a successful individual dribble.

Or it could just be you massively overvalue a certain type of maverick player.

Eze is a very good player but he isn't even in the same conversation as Foden and Bellingham at the moment so let's not get carried away.

With regards to Danny Murphy, who cares. No Champions League club is going to listen to his opinion and then decide, oh we should sign that Eze guy because some washed up bloke on MOTD2 said he's that good.

I can see Eze doing a Zaha and staying with us for the majority of his career. He doesn't really fit into any bigger team because the team needs to be built around him. We move our players around to give him and Olise the space they need to create. Bigger teams will require Eze to fit into their system and I can't think of any that he easily fits into.

My point was he looks best without structure, when he is allowed to roam and when he basically gets to enjoy himself. Whenever he's been more restricted for us he's been pretty average.

I'm not sure the need for the tone - he's expressed his opinion, I've expressed mine - that's how a forum works.

How about, you, learn to use punctuation appropriately, please, before making rude, interjections.
