Crystal Palace played out a goalless draw at home to Newcaster United.
The Eagles had the better of the chances at Selhurst Park through Luka Milivojevic and Mamadou Sakho but still wait for a first home win of the season.
James McArthur headed over the first attempt on goal but it was Newcastle who probably should have scored in the ninth minute.
James Tomkins was dispossessed by Ayoze Perez who surged through on goal with just Wayne Hennessey to beat but the Spaniard muffed his shot.
After Jordan Ayew nodded off target, Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka did well to sprawl to his left and push out a Milivojevic free-kick.
Milivojevic beat Dubravka with another dead ball but was thwarted by the post as the Toon held on for the half-time whistle.
German midfielder Max Meyer came on for Cheikhou Kouyate just past the hour mark in an attempt to try and break the deadlock with his creativity.
Andros Townsend was the catalyst for increased Palace attacks and he crossed for Sakho but the French defender headed wide of the goal when it would have been easier to score.
The Eagles went in search of the winner with a succession of corners late on but were unable to breach the Newcastle net.
