Not many would argue that Labour backed the wrong guy this election. His whole demeanour - geeky "Wallace (& Grommit)" look, his failure to overcome looking a tw*t eating a bacon sarnie, falling off the stage at the televised leader's debates, wheeling out the big stone of pledges, saying "tuffy nuss" and continually saying "When I'm Prime Minister" in a desperate tone... all added to his downfall as the public were turned off him. It reminded me of previous Labour leader faux pas:- Brown - forgetting he had a radio mike on in the car and saying "That woman was a bigot" and she was one of his supporters! Kinnock - falling over on the beach getting his arse wet by the tide. Foot - went everywhere in that duffle coat looking like a tramp. Any more?

He even tripped up leaving the stage, if that had been the only gaff it could have been laughed off but he hardly came across as someone who could command respect. I would imagine Larry Grayson would have scared Putin / IS more than Ed. Then there was the casual dismissal of the IFS and absolving the last Labour administration from any responsibility. They had to push Milliband forward as Balls had to be kept out of the spotlight.

Dave & Co. seem to be the most unpopular government since the Thatcher days. Yet Labour failed to take advantage of that. Shows how poor their Leadership choices are / were.
