I can't work out if recent events have lead to some clever trolling, or some people really are stupid. Not pointing fingers at people or sides, because there's people on both sides that are deluded.

But, Do you know what Winston Churchill, the man he was, has to do with an off duty soldier being murdered?

F*** all.

Seriously, the tension around here is hilarious verging on hysteric. That said, that's true for the entire country.

Has bright&wright returned or is he still googling the names Jamie mentioned to him?

But that's not what the thread is about.

Granted, but that's what people are making it about, or at least emotion of unrelated events are stiring up all sorts of willy waving. That said, in both cases the facts of the matter are being skewed, and people are using their opinions as none-subjective.

Truth is I can't stand the majority of people on the Internet, regardless of common interests, so I have no idea why posted. Same reason we like poking fires I guess.

I'm attracted to misanthropes.

Ha, read my edit.

I did.

Disappointed.

Well if it makes you feel better I pretty much hate people, but like a lot of persons, and despite their utter stupidity as a collective they are fascinating to watch. "People Watching" as it is called is oddly calming. Still hate most of them though.

Stirling's right. Jordan can't be jumping in to other posters arguments, especially not with a comment like calm the fukc down (which, personally would be guaranteed to further wind me up)

Not sure about that. Mute acquiescence or looking the other way (worrying that they'd be next) would be more accurate.

Everyone is happy to support the tyrants when its all good and they're doing well out of it. Tyrants need a pretty sizable support. Plenty of Russians and Germans were very happy to go along with the Nazis until it 'soured' on them.

Stalin was unusal in his brutality, as it seems to have been an escaltion of the tyranny of Lenin and Trotsky to an almost pathological level that compromised his own self interest.

And here we go. JM721 bowls a 'Thatcher bodyliner', which is bound to get a reaction from Nick at the crease. Will he try and smash that for 6, or will he duck ?

He was a good wartime leader but was voted out of office for a reason.

War time leaders very rarely make good leaders in peacetime that follows. There are exceptions, but that also goes double for revolutionary leaders. Churchill was the right man for wartime, but at best he was an average peacetime politician.

Also, Churchill didn't win the war. That lazy history that tends to overpraise politicians, and ignore people who achieved borderline miracles- Such as Ramsey who planned the Dunkirk evacuation - without which 338,226 BEF and (future) Free French troops were evacuated.

Without Dunkirk, the future of the British in WW2 would have been very limited.

Malcolm Smithy-FunkyJones, turned out not to have a ticket for the rowing boat, and was forced back on shore by overzelous inspectors. And fined three bob.

I realise that you've done that for 'comic' effect but I really have to say that I can't really tell someone what to do with a question.

dont be such a racist pr*ck!

First off, my family come from Cootehill in County Cavan, I won't divulge my Surname on here but it's as Oirish as the blarney Stone.

Secondly being Irish is not a "race", arguably being of Celtic decent could be classed as race, but even that has been called into question of late.

I think you may have meant me Xenophobic, but seeing as I visit Ireland a lot and have Irish family I don't really think so.

The basis of my comment was laid in the indifference (at best) or the active support (at worst) of Eire and it's people of the Nazis, Churchill's nemesis if you like.

So with tongue firmly in cheek I poked fun at the opinions of a Irish person on Churchill.

Consider your self educated. Pr1ck
